Ive been an UPWORDS player for many years. Its a great word game that rewards both strategy as well as vocabulary. Its much more challenging and open-ended than Scrabble, because you can build over (and change) words already on the board, for higher score. CAT can be changed to BETTER by placing B over the C, placing an E over the A, leaving the T, and adding TER. The new Deluxe design is spectacular. Theres easy to use, intuitive electronic scoring. If you like, you can set timing for players turns, and you can even handicap a better player to provide weaker players with more time on their turns. Everything stores inside the game unit. Theres also a great new gameplay option: CHALLENGE UPWORDS, which takes the primary features of classic stacking UPWORDS play and brings them into a new realm, with some twists. This is a tremendous product, and a great improvement on an already great word game. We love it.

One of the best games I have played in a long time. usually its scrabble but this is much better. I recently played this game on holiday with new players to the game as I am. rules are easy and we did not even score the words. just played and enjoyed. played in pairs and played with six players. there are only 4 racks for the letters but it made the game fun. so switch of the telly and give your brain an exercise.

We have been playing scrabble for years and it really annoys me i hate it when the board gets to a certain point when you cant do anything. everyone is obsessed with getting the triple word scores where as with up words you can change words and get loads of points and it is a much funner game i love it.
