| SONY | KV32FQ70U | Very impressive screen. We bought it because it was a Hign End TV (Sony dont do cheap ones anymore!) at a - just about - affordable price. Its certainly living up to expectations. Attached to surround sound system, but to be honest, the TVs own sound is really excellent. | | Eddie | 18/05/2008 16:37:21 |

| Sony | KDS55A2000 | much better picture than other tvs this size (plasma) and much cheaper,,, plasma uses over twice the amount of power.. and when a plasma dies u have to buy a new one.. with the sony .. u just change the light bulb and wallah a new tv again.. too bad sony is like all the others.. flat wall hanging tvs look like crap in my opinion.. this is a real tv and it looks great`! and with a 2.5 ms response time vs. lcd/plasma 8ms you can guess which tv looks better for sports and football hurry up .. because they dont make em like this anymore.. i bought the last (new) one here in denmark.. lucky me§!! | | mark aire | 14/01/2008 10:00:33 |

| TOSHIBA | 36ZP38B | Had the same problem as outlined above. Phoned Toshiba on 01276 694000. They were really helpful and said they would send out the part FOC as soon as I had decided who I wanted to repair the TV. Because the TV is so heavy, the repair man fixed it in my house for a cost of £80.25 inc. VAT. He confirmed that the spare part would normally have cost well over £100 from Toshiba. | | Matt | 06/01/2008 11:00:39 |

| PHILIPS | 36PW9607C | This is an awesome tv and is the best one i have owned so far. I think the picture on this tv is better than most plasma and lcd tv`s. The sound quality is also better than my hifi unit with great surround sound and active subwoofer. I play all my music through the tv instead of the hifi. | | Daja1975 | 25/04/2007 12:05:32 |

| Optoma | Themescene RD65 | I have not had the NTSC problem (although I have read of it on various web sites.) I feed my Region 1 discs into an ARCAM DVD65, then through a Rotel 1080 via componant leads to the progressive inputs. Perhaps, as the Rotel has an internal frame buffer, it does something to the signal that the TV is happy with. Also, 60hz signals from game consoles have worked fine. *shrug* My only gripe is the speed of the on screen menu`s. | | AndyJ | 30/01/2007 17:21:16 |

| TOSHIBA | 36ZP38B | Hi, i`ve got a Toshiba 32ZP38B that had picture problems starting over a 3 week period from accasional funny colours on the screen to different colours everything red was a perfect blue and everything blue was a perfect red.... it was really confusing while trying to watch Chelsea v Man utd.... the following day after 3 weeks of picture probs the screen dissapeared but the brilliant sound was fine.... ANYWAY PLEASE NOTE... after taking to a reputable repair shop i was told that the SCAN CONVERTER MODULE had gone (part no. HX01) and was going to cost £180.00 repair! i went to the shop to ask the breakdown of the bill and he said that the part was nearly £140.00.... upon this i said hang on, i want to see if i can buy one cheaper and went away today and had a look on the internet to make sure i was`nt being ripped off .... But as i searched i found this site with comments from a guy called Russ ... who had also got this fault and said to ring Toshiba on 01276 694000 and politly explain the problem and they will confirm it is a re-accuring problem and send out a modified board FREE OF CHARGE...... i phoned them and they did..... CHEERS RUSS .... YOU SAVED ME £140.00 or nearly letting my repair bloke have the tv for accessing.... ITS A LONG WAIT ON TOSHIBAS TELEPHONE SO BE PATIENT AS THEY ARE VERY HELPFULL.... I SPOKE TO A GREAT GUY CALLED NIGEL, (JUST FOR YOUR REFERENCE. | | Mark fender. | 17/12/2006 12:30:30 |

| Sony | KV28HX15U | When we were searching for a widescreen, we couldn`t belive how much the market had been taken over by the flatscreens (Plasmas and LCD`s). Newer and more stylish the flatcsreen may be, we were not impressed by their performance. They were very pixelated when viewing analog t.v (This was just before Hi-Def was available). Half the stands taht came with them looked rubbish, if you werent planning on placing them up on the wall, and some were definately over priced. Knowing that flatscreens were all the craze, we didn`t expect most of them to be such low quality. So we were just amazed by how the cheaper, actually a lot cheaper, the CRT widescreens out performed the flatscreens and how crisp their picture quality was. The three main 28` widescreens that caught our eye were from JVC, Goodmans and of course the Sony. The sony provided the better sound, picture and looks, it was also the cheapest, and being a PS2 owner i didn`t hesitate to go with the sony. Unlike most other televisions now, the stand matched the T.V. From then I can say that this widescreen has never let me down, The sound is supereb the picture is brilliant, way better than most LCD`s and Plasmas, and the connectivity is excellent. I find usually that Freeview and sky improve the picture on T.V progams, so im wondering how brilliant the picture would look through these, but if you really want to be impressed by this telly try playing the hit playstation game, Gran Turismo 4 through it and you will see what I mean. | | KV-28HX15U | 17/08/2006 20:59:31 |

| SAMSUNG | SP42Q2HD | I have had mine for a few weeks now, and I have to say I`m impressed! Wanted a 32` LCD but wasn`t impressed with the picture quality. When you look at the picture & sound quality and compare it £ for £, there can be only one decision. Coupled with a 5.1 Surround, DVD viewing is more like a cinema experience, as for Games.......AWESOME!!! Would reccomend to anyone!!!!!! | | Slinky1561 | 25/04/2006 09:46:11 |

| TOSHIBA | 43VJ22P | A good tv set, had one visual problem with it, phoned the extracover people, and to my amazment they were round `the next day` wow. fixed the prob there and then, been fantastic ever since. for a rear screen projector tv, the picture is v/good.
The sound is very clear and when watching films the bass is ground shaking! music also sounds wonderfull, to be honest when the tv was first set-up, and turned to the `MTV` chanels i was looking around the back of the tv for a seperate `boom box` it is truely a powerfull set-up. | | Mr Eades. | 06/01/2006 12:22:13 |

| JVC | HV-32D40 | I recently purchased this television. Have to say I am chuffed to bits with it. Picture is superb escpecially on progressive scan which is awesome. The television itself is a 75 Hz 32 inch Pure flatscren television, a compromise between the 50 Hz and 100 Hz sets available. The only (slight) criticism I have of this television is that it tends to show up just how much processing sky digital channels have. This is not really a fault of the television though, its a fault of satellite broadcasting itself. However by tweaking one of the many digital effects available, you can all but eliminate the worst aspects of the low quality satellite broadcasts. DVD playback is superb of course. The built in Freeview tuner is surprisingly good. Not having had previous experience of Freeview I was expecting somewhat indifferent quality. But it is very good, much clearer than Analogue. Would I recommend this television? Without hesitation. All in all a superb television. Five stars out of five | | happy | 02/12/2004 13:41:38 |

| BEKO | 244263WNS | Had it two days - picture quality good and tube surprisingly flat - half expected a fish bowl to arrive. It is not quite flat but not too far off. Colours rich and significant setting options.
2 scarts and a headphone socket - not masses of I/O but sufficient - most other "budget" TVs only offer the single scart - not enough with a Freeview and VCR and DVD.
Sound very average but if I want atmosphere I take a feed from the Freeview box anyway.
All in all, very pleased with the package and the delivery from Argos online was almost painless and well within the 7 days stated. Rated 5/5 because at the price paid I expected much less. | | Allan in | 05/11/2004 10:30:29 |

| Philips | 36Pw9525 | The 36pw9525 is a pro logic tv not nicam. I have owned one for 2 years. It seems to be available for about £1000 now,, it was a £2500 set normal retail price. I have never had a moments regret, wonderful picture, sound system and bass is first class. For complicated sets like this I suggest insurance for 5 years cost was for me £150. It has not failed yet after three house moves. weight is about ten tons,, phewww! it has everything, get the external rear speakers that are available, its a must for pro logic and your dvd 5.1 system. dont buy anything else. | | webmaster@(at)transportcafe.co.uk | 22/01/2004 11:26:41 |

| JVC | AV28GT1 silver | Great looking (yes I got a TV in BLACK)the finish I've missed. Great performing TV. Being my first widescreen I fiddled a bit with the aspect ratio button not knowing the best way to view a DVD. Now it's set to Auto it's fine.
I also bought a Panasonic widescreen with 100Hz recently. To be honest I can't see the difference in 100Hz and 50Hz which is what the JVC is and I'm now convinced this is just a gimmick. Pure Flatscreen is likewise as the picture's no better either. Believe me you'll go no wrong with the AV28GT1 Picture and Sound. | | Glenzo | 05/12/2003 14:26:55 |

| TOSHIBA | 32ZD26P | For a 32" TV its brillant. Control is easy to use and picture quality is good. The cabinet is quite cool and suits the TV. Rated very high by most TV mags. | | Phil | 14/05/2003 16:15:15 |

| Loewe | P4781ZPA | Amazingly stylish TV ( especially with stand for £300 ). One of the few TV's that does not distort the picture when expanding to fill the screen. Brilliant colours and contrast. | | Deano | 07/05/2003 14:45:30 |

| PANASONIC | TX-32PL10C | After shopping around and doing my homework I think I've found the perfect tv and at a great price. £749 from John Lewis and with a 5 yr warranty (most places only give you 12 months) this really is a bargain but it's on price match so you'll have to be quick. I've had it less than 24 hours but already I'm in love with it.
It's good-looking, great picture and definitely worth paying the extra for 100hz. Oh and size does matter! | | neen1969 | 06/03/2003 11:32:31 |

| SONY | KV32LS60 | re: review below - your supplier is correct, it is because you are running the TV in "SMART" mode. What this does is to stretch a picture that is being transmitted in 4:3 format (old style TV) to fit your widescreen TV. As most of the image you watch tends to be in the centre of the screen Sony's smart mode stretches the outside edges. If you don't like this then simply go into the TV's set up mode and change to normal 4:3 viewing. What you will get is the "correct" image being transmitted but as it is 4:3 your TV will place black bars either side of the image.
When a widescreen program is being transmitted your picture will be perfect when in "SMART" mode as your TV is designed for widescreen transmissions. | | Chris | 23/01/2003 12:01:41 |

| PHILIPS | 28PW6006 wihtout cabinet | excellent picture, average-good sound, reliable, remote is good size. Setup is childs play. I like the sockets at the side rather than at the front.
Best 28" I could find under 300 quid. | | 28phillipstvgirl | 16/01/2003 11:07:10 |

| HITACHI | C28WF540N | It looks great - the picture is superb although the sound possibly isn't as good as the very best. Regardless though, this is a great piece of kit. | | Dougie | 11/01/2003 12:33:47 |

| THOMSON | 28WR23UG | A great quality TV at a budget price.
Including features not normally seen on TVs of this price: RGB input on SCART socket 1 (Scart 2 is only SCART). S-Video and composite video connections. Also accepts a 60hz signal.
If I have one critisism of this product, it would be that when using it with RGB Consoles such as Nintendo GameCube, the user MUST adjust the picture contrast and brightness down, to avoid 'bleaching' by the signal strength when displaying bright pale colours. It would be helpful if THOMSON could include an 'RGB Console' as one of the pre-programmed options. Also a warnig in the manual wouldn't go amiss ;) Apart from that one small critisism, this is a set that provides superb value for money, with a lot of extras that other TVs in its range simply dont offer. | | E. | PANASONIC | TX21AP1 | We had been told Panasonic was a good brand for TVs and were not disappointed. The picture is fantastic as is the Nicam stereo sound. The sound improvement is the most marked compared to our last TV so go for this model (with the Nicam sound) rather than the mono version. | | Bought Jan 2003 | 31/12/2002 09:01:01 |

| TOSHIBA | 28Z23B | This Toshiba widescreen TV is the best thing since sliced bread!
My Bush TV died, so I took it back, paid a little extra and got one of these. Having a flat tube, and a load of other tech things, picture quality excellent. Put in a disc like Monsters Inc. and the colours are fabulous. They don't bleed at all, and that's using a budget DVD player and basic scart!
All I can say is if you live near a Safeway Store, and they happen to have one left, pick one up, at £100 less than other stores like ETS for example, I would say it's the best TV for under £500 that I've seen. Buy one today!!!!! | | mcaleenan | 21/12/2002 12:20:07 |

| PHILIPS | 36PW9607C | Just got one thing to say about this television, WOW.
I was out shopping for a TV and looked at Sony,B&O and all the other things out there. I did think about Plasma and Cinema TV however when I saw this Phillips TV the picture was so impressive it made all the other TV's in the store look washed out. This is a must have for anyone who wants the best picture out there now.
A must buy!! | | Sean Scholes | 13/12/2002 12:59:36 |
