SharpR98STMLooked around on the internet looking at a number of combination microwave ovens and went for this Sharp. Now having used it for just over a month got to say I am very pleased with it. Roomy interior, 40L size, plenty of room. Easy to use. Great results. You can also do batch cooking, using the supplied two slide-in shelves (convention only). However, you do need to turn the food manually now and again (as stated in the book), as cooking in this way tends to burn at the rear quickly, near the heat source. Its not really a problem as 95% of the time cook using the two round racks provided, on the turntable - food rotates and does not burn. Overall, would recommend this microwave. 5 out of 5Amazon Reviewer04/01/2009 01:01:01

PanasonicNNA554WI spent some time researching Combi-ovens before purchasing a Panasonic NNA554W. It is a lot more powerful than my last microwave oven and therefore cooks quicker. In my opinion, the instructions are easy to understand and the oven is easy to use too, that is why I give this oven 5 stars. Its fun cooking in it and trying different recipies and pizza is superb. 5 out of 5Amazon Reviewer02/01/2009 01:01:01

SharpR959SLMBought this product in a frenzied hurry purely on the strength of the reviews here - due to my panasonic one rather nicely packing in by blowing half the house fuses only weeks after the 1yr guarantee expired AND only one week before Christmas! As this was the third panasonic in just under 4 years to pack in just out of guarantee we were determined to change manufacturer. So back to Sharp - the manufacturer of the first microwave we ever owned many many years ago and oh boy have we struck gold. This is a large combi microwave which just oozes quality and is a dream to use. The wattage of our panasonic was 1000 and although the specification for this one is 900 this actually cooks a lot quicker and the only reason I can come up with is the jet function. We ordered on Thursday afternoon at approximately 4pm on free supersaver delivery (although I think this was automatically upgraded) because of Christmas, and it arrived the day after at approximately 2pm - astounding service from Amazon/Courier. I used it every day up to and including Christmas Day when it coped admirably by cooking our full Christmas dinner including a 13.5kg turkey. The main oven was only on to keep things warm. Although most of the functions it does I already used in my previous machine a couple of things I have never had before which I think are excellent 1) the two metal racks that are exactly the same as those from a normal oven so you can use the jet convection element just like a normal oven and fit loads into the large 40L capacity over two levels. I tried it with bread rolls, biscuits and yorkshire puds and the results were excellent. 2) the ceramic turntable - I was very dubious about keeping this clean because its white, but a couple of weeks down the road and having been used at least once a day (sometimes three) there isnt a mark on it. One other thing worth mentioning is that you can pre-programme up to three different cooking combinations ie full micro 20mins followed by combi micro/convection 25mins followed by grill/micro 55mins etc. You can use this feature with any combination of cooking/time. I am extremely happy with this purchase and I can honestly say that I think without a doubt this could easily replace my normal cooker oven. Finally a big thanks to all who took time out to give concise reviews of the machine. 5 out of 5Amazon Reviewer29/12/2008 01:01:01

PanasonicNNCT776Sreally like this microwave, It cooks a Small roast chicken crispy in 35mins with the combination oven. 2 Medium Jacket potatoes cook in 15min, skins nice and brown but not crispy, more like the jacket potatoes you would buy in a cafe. Good for saving energy, instead of using my big oven this is ideal for the 2 of us, I have baked scones and they were amazing also quiches etc. downside it can be noisy when using microwave and combination, but doesnt bother me. cookery book is only like a paper leaflet, would have been better hardback simply because there are some really nice recipies in there and if used frequently it will soon wear out or rip, plus when you first get your new microwave you are forever looking in the book for instructions. ovengloves a must to remove dishes from microwave when you have used the conventional oven, a teatowel not good enough, so easy to catch hands on the side of hot oven, because of lack of space compared to normal conventional oven, but I soon got the hang of it. this is really worth the money also it is easy to keep clean if you wipe it out when it is still warm. 10/10 for me 5 out of 5Amazon Reviewer14/11/2008 01:01:01

PANASONICNNE225MAfter reading the previous two reviews here, I was in two minds as to whether to get this microwave or not. Im glad I did. Ive always purchased Panasonic branded products whenever possible so expected this to be good too. I got this microwave in January 2008 and have been using it just about every day without any problems whatsoever. It does the job that I need it to do - heat my foods and hot chocolate. The only slight downside is the loud alarm that goes off four times at the end of the cycle. It is LOUD - but better than being too quiet! Overall, I think its been a great purchase and I look forward to more years service from it too. By the way, buying stuff from Amazon is a great idea - even electrical things. The level of customer service from Amazon is simply fantastic. Great microwave at a great price.5 out of 5Amazon Reviewer08/11/2008 01:01:01

HotpointMWHZ33A lovely machine, looks good and has a good powerful oven. Controls seem a little `tinny` for such a high powered oven. We tried the pasta maker and it worked well. My new kitchen has just been installed and I`ve been having problems with an `error` message, and not being able to get past it by pressing any/all buttons. Turning off and on again at the plug doesn`t seem to help. Having booked a family Christmas meal here - I now have no way of cooking the meal!!! The earliest a service engineer can get here is on the 28th. Very Disappointing. 4 out of 5Anon02/01/2007 09:22:30

PanasonicNNCS596SI am on my second unit the first was replaced after a month due to the microwave unit not working, the current unit is away for repair as the oven and grill have stopped working. I notice that when using the steam option the display gets fogged up so you cannot read it but generaly it cooks well the down side is that it can take a month to repair at the local Panasonic shop and that is when under warranty god knows how long when out of warranty. For the price and the functions I think I would buy a cheaper make and model next time. 3 out of 5Graham09/11/2009 18:25:48

SHARPR772I have `inherited`(with the purchase of our property) my Sharp R772 which is obviously an elderly lady, well used, but still going strong. I have used a number of microwaves over the years, but am delighted with the results from this one, better than anything I have used before. I only wish I had also inherited the manual so that I could get the most out of it. 5 out of 5doreen30/10/2009 16:12:51

PanasonicNNCT756WI purchased this microwave to replace an older 750 model that has served us well over the past 6 years, with the especially good price being offered by Amazon making it not very economical for me to replace / repair the failed inverter power supply in my NN750. Although this unit is an update on the 750 it is virtually an identical device as far as the operation and specifications are concerned, the only variations being (apart unfortunately from the front panel colour) is that the oven has a catalyst back panel rather than stainless steel as on the 750, and the control panel has actual buttons rather than a touch panel, a big plus point as the surface on touch panels can deteriorate through time, my 750 being no exception as the indications had partially rubbed off. Speaking as a long term person involved with electronics the only reservation I do have is that the case of my previous 750 had quite a number of ventilation slots on the side casing nearest to where the electronics are situated whereas this model hasnt any at all in this position, with only a few positioned on the very rear of the side casing making me hope that there arent going to be any failures of the inverter power unit due to overheating. (I may decide to change the cabinet over from my old 750 as they are identical sizes) All in all I am very pleased with the microwave as its virtually a "do anything" device, and it does it well!!5 out of 5Amazon Reviewer19/01/2009 01:01:01

SHARPR772I have had this product for at least 8 years and cannot speak highly enough of it. Its amazing. Cooks roasts, cooked breakfast, pizzas, crispy food, chips and baked potatoes - the best. The key to it is the grill beneath the turntable which makes everything crisp. I would not recommend it for baking cakes as it can sometimes scorch the top. I bought it when green was the new kitchen colour so it could be even more than 8 years old. My son bought the upgraded version R85 ST, but it is not as good as my old one and I have just read the reviews which are awful. The reason I have found this on internet is that `my automatic cook` for chicken is no longer working. It must have had more action than anything else. This microwave owes me nothing after having a 5/6 person family to cook for. I am so pleased to see I can get another one and that is why I have just written my first review on a product. 5 out of 5Jenny,19/02/2008 17:58:56

KenwoodCJ/AL28I like mine alot, but next time I`ll buy one where you can manually vary the temp of each bit seperately, if you choose to use grill oven and microwave in combi there`s no way to tell what temp or power setting you`re using. I like the convection oven as a spare in the kitchen when the cooker`s going full out for a sunday roast, and I especialy like the way it roasts joints using all 3 in combi, if you follow the instruction manual set timings for weight, nicely browned and crispy outside, suculent inside! 4 out of 5Simon :-)27/01/2009 07:44:47

SamsungBCE1197I also bought this Samsung microwave from Tesco over a year ago. I like the quality finish - strong handle etc and easy to use controls. The smart bar code was part of the reason for buying this model but I too have found very few retailers with the code - a few in M & S, not many, which when I tried it it seems to work fine. I ams sure it could prove very useful, for e.g. elderly people but choice is not there yet. The combi function is very good - it was an excellent replacement when our cooker broke down. Seems bulb is a common fault throughout the model. SanyoEMC6786VBought one from 24/7 electrical three months ago.Performed as expected and looked the part as a modern microwave. Internal bulb stopped working yesterday. This faulty bulb issue is obviously an on going problem and is a real pain in the ass if the only solution for a replacement bulb is to box up and send the whole unit back for the sake of a bulb which incidentally is NOT included in the guarantee - why oh why don`t manufacturers think of their customers and produce goods where an easy and safe method of replacing bulbs is built into the unit. 3 out of 5Jim20/12/2007 13:03:45
