Speakers Review 09 May 2008
Koreannovation, a showcase of products designed in South Korea, is set to take place next week, with a number of audio-based innovations taking centre stage, according to Korea Trade Show 2008. These include Soundwalk from AZA Extremes, which is designed for those frustrated by headphones which fall out while they are jogging, cycling or hiking. The product comes in the form of a vest or jacket, powered by two AAA batteries and which plugs into a standard mp3 player as the source of its music. This is said to produce surround sound audio output with no risk of causing any damage to the wearer's ears.
The SMS Series of computer audio speakers from S&J is also due to make an appearance, which are said by the organisers of the Korea Trade Show 2008 to be compatible with any conventional audio source. With a remote control to change simple settings such as volume levels and the mains power supply to the unit, a little more freedom may be achievable than with many similar systems with fixed controls. The company has previously undertaken research and development duties for Samsung, resulting in a high level of expertise among its employees, the event organisers contend.
Alternatively, iPod users could opt for the Valve Amplifier from Muse. This innovative device produces audio using a vacuum tube, delivering "unparalleled sound" according to the show organisers. Aesthetic appeal is enhanced by encasing the system in an ash wood cabinet, while it should connect to any iPod to play stored content back at exceptional levels of quality. With a headphone jack and auxiliary input, the system could also be used to run through external sources to add a little extra impact to the audio achieved, while the integrated dual-channel speakers are capable of achieving up to five Watts of sound. © Adfero Ltd | |
