Panasonic delivers backpack Blu-ray

The Panasonic DMP-BD15 portable Blu-ray player is designed to offer people a practical way to view Blu-ray films on the go.

Users get the ability to play 24 fps footage at full high-definition (HD) 1080p output, while there's an SD card slot and P4HD processing.

The device offers a 8.9-inch LCD screen with a WSVGA 1024 x 600 pixel resolution that helps the player stand out above its market competitors.

There's also access to the Panasonic web portal, Viera Cast, which gives viewers the opportunity to head into Picasa and YouTube and view them through a spectacular high resolution interface facilitated by quick loading speeds.

Pocket-lint.com found problems begin with the warm-up, as it can take 20 seconds to get going and even longer to show initial menus, which could be a problem for users on the move who just want to watch something quickly and easily.

Battery power will generate between two and a half and three hours of running time and the Blu-ray playback itself is little short of stunning.

Available for around £500.
