PSP games Review 17 March 2008
With spring in the air and blue skies beginning to make an appearance, many Britons could be planning their first day trip of the year. For those hoping to take their PSP along to kill time on the way, it could be the ideal time to add a new title to their collection. In honour of the emergence from winter, Fading Shadows could be just the thing. Released earlier this month, the game is a combination of platform-based action and taxing puzzles which must be solved in order to progress. The heroine of the piece is Erwyn, whose soul has been stored in a protective orb. The player must use a beam of light to guide this through the environments and reach the Castle of Heaven, or all will be lost.
Perhaps a little lighter in tone is Puzzle Guzzle - although this is perhaps no less taxing. There is less of a storyline here, which could please those keen to get straight down to some puzzling fun. In order to succeed in this game, the player must piece together a number of sections with the intention of eliminating the angled sides and completing an object with only right angles. However, at each stage the opponent - whether human or computer - has the potential to prevent the player from completing the challenge.
Also recently launched for the portable console is Pinball Hall of Fame - The Williams Collection. Fans of the ball game might like to try their hand at this digitised version, which producer Crave Entertainment suggests is ideal for reigniting the sentiment of the 1980s. Tables presented in the game enhance this sense, the software studio says, due to the fact that they include some of the most recognisable layouts ever to grade the amusement arcades - which could please even the most hardcore pinball addict. © Adfero Ltd | |
