'Wide load coming through' on Oce printer 08 May 2008
A new printer from Oce caters for particularly wide loads, it has been revealed.
The Oce ColorWave 600 is the first wide-format printer from the company to incorporate CrystalPoint, proprietary technology which aims to enhance colour output.
Such a result is achieved by turning toner into a gel-like substance, which is transferred to the page in a similar way to ink in an inkjet printer.
Among the benefits of using the technique is a semi-gloss finish, which may be attained even on uncoated paper according to Oce.
This could help to reduce expenditure on expensive print media, as well as being kinder to the environment in terms of reducing the amount of coatings used on sheets.
Emissions of toner dust and ozone are also limited by turning the toner into a gel, Oce points out.
For those with big ideas, the news that the printer can cover 12 square feet of paper in half a minute might be particularly welcome.
Oce recently reported success over the first quarter of 2008, with revenues up by 1.3 per cent across all sectors and by 1.8 per cent not including the fax machines market. © Adfero Ltd | |
