I absolutely loved Tony Hawks 1 + 2 for Playstation. Then 3 came out and it got worse and worse. The focus went from great level design and awesome soundtracks (in the first 2 TH games) then dwindled into badly designed games with poor levels, `missions`, daft novelty ideas (lets see how many Jackass stars we can get involved!) and endless amounts of pop-punk.

This game is great - it plays just like Tony Hawks games should and hearing another Dead Kennedys song put a smile on my face. The grafitti and deck editors are a great addition, as is WiFi multiplayer (although its not always easy finding a fellow THASer). And the new `Toon style` is quite refreshing

Thats the good points

But I couldnt give it 5 stars.

The level design is ok. And ok only. If you have played the first ever 2 Tony Hawks games youll know how much thought was put into the levels. Anyway this game seems to follow the trend of Tony Hawks Underground whereby a great deal of the levels are flat square blocks which hardly differ from each other. And the `Freakout` idea is ok in theory, but annoying and time consuming in practice. Also, the costume editor would suit about 1 in 300 people (ie someone who has glasses, a pink goatee, a purple shirt and green shorts)

But the gameplay makes up for these things so 4 stars it is.
For £12.99 you cant go wrong!

This game is simply amazing. It has taken the useless stuff like walking and driving cars out and included the classic hardcore sk8ing. The touch screen controls are suberb for specials and slow-motion moves. Overall its a top game and surly the best skateboarding handheld game ever.
