This game was pretty big when it came out; addictive sequel to Bubble Bobble with the brightest graphics around. But this version is pretty dire in comparison. In an attempt to make use of the unique DS features, this has been made into a touchscreen only game. It feels nothing like the original Rainbow Islands which is a shame. It could have been a pretty nifty little platformer, but instead it seems like a naff tribute act. I tried to play it a few times to see if I could get that nostalgic pang, but I soon got bored, put the DS down and started flicking through teletext instead.

And the touch screen control is a disaster, requiring you to both steer a bubble, as well as draw rainbows, unfortunately, you often need to do this simultaneously, but cant, resulting in a lot of frustration.
I have played this for about 1 hour, then never touched it again. A complete waste of money. This purchase reminded me to check the game reviews, and dont buy on an impulse.

It is incredibly hard to play and would have been so much better if the stylus was not the mode of play. Dont waste your money.
