I bought this game because I remembered playing the original arcade version years ago! Although the DS version doesnt quite compare to the original it is a good attempt and makes great use of the stylus.
The levels/stages in one-player mode are the same as those in the original arcade version, and are a good way to rid yourself of boredom. Additionally the `Brain Massage` mode provides more of a challenge, as the players best score of each day is stored providing a chance to improve and beat your own performance - Point Blanks own take on the popular brain training genre. In my opinion this is the best part of the game, and the titles you unlock upon getting a certain score certainly contribute to this (`sock washing authority` and `improvisational doctor` to name but two). Glaringly pointless but most definitely fun!
A further highlight of this game is the chance to play four classic arcade games, including Whack a Croc and Cracky Crab - legends!
Lastly, the two player mode provides a chance to play the arcade mode against a friend (in typical arcade style) and requires only one game cartridge to do so.
However the long-term playability of this game is relatively short - the Brain Massage mode is the only real reason to go back and re-play it, and even so it may only be a monthly visit.
A must for die-hard Point Blank fans, and an amusing play for everyone else. Perfect for when you only have a few minutes to spare, but its obvious lack of storyline doesnt lend itself well to those wanting something to get their teeth into.
