The controller is nicely made, comfortable, and works perfectly. There are cheaper non-wii versions available, but I dont regret playing safe.

For those who have difficulties with the nunchuck, this isnt a great deal of help- because it doesnt work with most of the games that are available at the moment.
It apparently it works with virtual console games- but you need broadband for virutal console downloads.

So if you have difficulties with the nunchuck and no broadband, well its probably going to get dusty in the drawer waiting for new releases.

This is a must have controller for the WII for all those games that can have this as a controller option. For those who still havent mastered the nunchuck remotes or just like the idea of the old fashion gamepad action then this is ideal.

I didnt know about virtual console until I bought one of these controllers the only reason I bought one of these is in order to play Pro evolution Soccer 2009 and that is the only thing I will be using it for. As a controller this does its job it just plugs into your wii remote but for the real football players like myself after a period of time (like all pads) the joysticks hurt your fingers, but these more so because there nintendo plastic as opposed to playstation plastic i.e. hard not soft I have just order the snakebyte controller and the other one with the blue on it these look a little more long term user friendly I will let you know if and when they come

bought this a while back for my Nintendo Wii. Really good control but all you Pro evo lovers out there......this control does not support the game hence it does not work for Pro evolution soccer. really annoying! however works for fifa and others and is quite handy. really good grip!

I bought this purely because I found myself not playing Mario Kart Wii as my fingers ached when I used the wheel (manual drifting and reaching round for the B button took a toll!) - and I fancied a more retro way of trying escape the blue shells (which is a futile quest).

You can tell why they call this a classic controller - although it looks pretty modern and funky with the Wii styling - it feels like the old NES/SNES joypads of yesteryear. It feels plasticy - but it *is* plastic afterall! Its solid in the hand, and both the buttons and analogue controls all feel sturdy.

It simply plugs into the Wiimote and then you have wireless control. This is essential if you want to download the classic games, but it is also handy for the modern games which are compatible, Mario Kart Wii for instance.

So I was around a friends house and I saw he had one of these snazzy controllers and I had had a bad experience with the unofficial wii gamecube controller clones (the cables are *really* short*...) so I thought Id get one of these babies.

So Ive just received my order and fired up my copy of Resident Evil 1 ready for some thrills and spills and to my absolute dismay it does not work with Gamecube games.

Now this I hardly believe is a technical problem I think Nintendo engineered it NOT to work because youd get all the great cheap gamecube games and play them and not as many Wii games.

Thankfully Ive got a few controllers ordered off of Ebay so its not a total wash out but I am really disappointed that this doesnt work. The reason it hasnt got a 1 star review is because you can use it with Wii Arcade (at least Im hoping!)

As for the control it does all the necessary things you need it to, its pretty much a generic controller. Has some random button in the middle of the controller which if youre playing any fast paced arcade game youd find difficult to push. Definitely would of preferred `handles` like the gamecube/xbox/playstation have as going back to a mega-drive style controller just makes you realise what a great addition the handles were.

So overall yeah its an okay product, not ground breaking and Nintendos short sighted greediness overshadows any great addition to my collection it could be.

Its a good pad, but the analogue sticks are a little too close together. Also, it doesnt work with Gamecube games, and isnt as comfortable as the Wavebird either. Now dont get me wrong, it is NOT uncomfortable, just not as comfortable. Buy a Wavebird if you can, but if you cant get one of these then.

Ok, first of all, it is a great idea to get the classic controller, as it does add to the enjoyment of the Wii, It includes all the `Wii Buttons` and it even works with the Wii Menu (so you can use analog sticks instead of the wii mote if you like)

But I do however find the controller uncomfortable.
It is basically a SNES controller with analog sticks!

The thing I find annoying about it, is the wire comes to the bottom. this wire annoys me when I am playing, I would prefer it come from the top.

However saying that, the buttons are easy to use, and it does work better then the GameCube controller, but it can feel like it is going to slip out of your hands, it could do with better grip (like the original GameCube controller), but some could say that the layout makes it feel more like the original SNES games, and stuff.
This maybe great, but if you are looking at downloading other titles, like the N64 games, where the second stick becomes `C` (up,down, left and right) it can become pretty annoying, especailly for some games. Like Mario Kart, ok the C buttons only really controlled camera angles and stuff. The great thing about the buttons was that you could still hold down the A button, then change camera angles etc... using another finger, this one, sees you letting go of the A button, to use the `C` button.

That aside though, it is still one of the best things to get for your Wii, but I must say that ONLY buy this controller if you plan to play a LOT of Virtual Console games, although it can be used for other games aswell (Mortal Kombat, NiGHTS etc...) I would only really still get it, if you know you will use it a lot!

This is a great little controller that does what its made to do, however, you might be better of simply useing an old gamecube controller and save your self some money
