This is effectively 2 toys in one, the Nerf gun itself, which is great fun for kids and fires the supplied foam Nerf bullets, and the Nerf N-Strike Wii game. The Nerf gun can also be used in the game, the Wii controller just slots into it, turning the Nerf gun into a regular Wii gun.
Shooting robots in various scenarios is great fun and some of the levels are quite challenging. This game is very much aimed at kids though, theres not much variety here and it does get quite repetitive after a while. So if you want an immersive shooter this is definitely not it, but for kids who just want a fun bit of robot shooting, this is ideal.

I dont generally agree with any games that involve guns but I relented in this case as the game is soley shooting targets and robots (never people) and my son loved the look of it. We have great fun playing and become quite competative! It does come with some foam darts that you can shoot at each other outside of the wii game but overall I think it is harmless fun! Although to enjoy 2 player you do need a second blaster.

Its a perfect pick up and play affair with excellent variations in skill levels. The gun itself is solid and more important, for longevity, is a great toy when used as a stand alone foam-dart (safe) gun for kids (it comes with three darts). Simply remove the firing mechanism (one button press) and insert the Wii remote to play the video game. Gameplay wise the actual combat (roaming dark corridors on rails and firing at robots) section is average. Its some of the other games that shine. The block level is a 3D breakout style game where you must shoot (and on some occasions carefully snipe) away blocks to end the level or blast them off a platform to leave certain blocks safe. Other levels were as much about reaction skills and or frantic blasting. Given that you can easily unlock new guns it gets better. Its simple, the graphics are good, the gun feels good and better still, its very accurate. If I held the gun steady I could adjust to a pixel perfect aim. Good fun.
