My son (age 11) loves this game, and yet no-one we know has heard of it. The graphics are simple, abstract and effective, and the game play varied (you can play as many different characters with different skills that develop as the game goes on). The scenario is that there is a virtual world under the student campus that is under threat from the XANA virus and the students must enter the virtual world (hence the abstract landscapes)to fight against it and try to save the virtual world and repair it. Lots of action, good cyber-style effects, and very satisfying progression through the game. Also the scenario and enemies/targets are so unlike real life it doesnt have the aggression factor that some other games have, and although I suspect that some combat-based games (eg. Super Smash Bros) affect my sons behaviour after playing them, this one only seems to put him in a good moood. I liked it because the abstract landscapes give it a really futuristic aspect and make it easy to see what is going on. Apparently it is based on a Japanese tv series, but you dont have to have seen the series to understand what is going on in the game.

I didnt even know this was a TV show. Is it even aired in the UK? If it is, its not on terrestrial stations.

From what I can gather, this is is essence, a game of the 4th and final season of the show. Its written in a sense of if you havent seen the show, youre not really going to know whats going on. Almost as if it were a sequel to another game. No character intros, no `This is why the villain is bad.` none of that.

So far, the games ok. It does seem to be a glorified 3D platformer, and it is very linear in fashion. You can go back to a level later on to pick up the rest of the bonuses if you feel like it. The graphics are fairly pretty, it uses animated scenes that I guess could have been lifted from the show (and you cant skip them. Theres only so many times I want to see the Visualization section.)

There are no walkthroughs for this game. It doesnt need them. Go from A to B, and if you feel like it later, go back to the little bit where it tells you you need to use a different, powered up character. Being able to switch between all 4 characters is pretty good. This is also the only Wii game Ive seen with built in cheat codes, so make of that what you will. It makes good use of the Wii controls once you get the hang of it, but some of them seem a little overcomplicated for what you need to do.

Overall good, but seeing/knowing of the show would help, unless youre going to ignore most of the storyline.
