I bought My Fitness Coach in December and after some sporadic attempts to use it in conjunction with Wii Fit, I gave up on the Wii fit. I use that daily to measure my weight, and for a giggle when we have people round. For my serious routine I use My Fitness Coach. The workouts are structured, varied and flow nicely from one excercise to another. From Warmup to Cardio to Core, depending on what youve set as your focus, theres enough excercises to keep the variety, but enough consistency that you feel confident with the routines. I work out for half an hour every morning before work except Fridays, when I have a day off, and I dont use it at the weekend. Since January Ive lost over a stone with this routine and Im well on the way to my second as well. It is worth spending the time measuring yourself and getting it set up properly...its so nice to be able to say youve lost 2 inches off your waist, even if your weight hasnt come down very far yet. This does require self-discipline and commitment. If youre not really bothered about toning up and losing weight, and are more interested in having a bit of active fun then get a Wii Fit. If you seriously want to spend some time on yourself then Maya is one of the least irritating pixelated motivators Ive come across - as I say, its been over 6 months and I havent given up on her, or myself, yet!

It takes a while to set up your profile but once that is done you can do as much or as little as you like. If you already have some equipment; balance ball, weights etc. you can include them in your workout.
Reviewed by: Amazon Reviewer Rating: Date Reviewed: 18Jul2009 | | | I would recommend this product to anyone wanting more of a `workout` than a `game`. Wii Fit is great fun as simply a game...I love the balance games. But it is not a workout. Especially as you have to stop and go back to the menu everytime you finish an exercise.
With this game, you choose the workout length and the trainer puts together a workout for you without having to start and stop. I like the assessment at the beginning and felt it gave me (and the game) a good idea of my starting place and will be interesting to see how I progress. It is a bit like having a customisable workout DVD. Dont expect that it wont feel like working out and youll have so much fun youll forget you are burning calories...you will feel this (if not, shell make it harder!)
I like working out in the privacy of my own home but get bored with DVDs that are exactly the same each time. As this changes the workout each time, it doesnt get boring.
Highly recommended.

With My Fitness Coach u can have a proper workout session concentrating on the areas u want to and it makes u feel great afterwards. I got this after a few of my mates reccommended it and i can see why. Its brilliant. I cant see why there r loads of negative reviews. It does exactly what it says on the tin. I highly reccommend this to anyone who wants to keep fit and lose weight and inches but with regards to the other reviews about lesser abled people and the older person, i think Wii Fit would be better for them as its less full on.

Reviewed by: Amazon Reviewer Rating: Date Reviewed: 11Jun2009 | | | This Wii games is fantastic and I would recommend it to anyone who really wants to tone up, work hard and fit it around their everyday life style.
It is much more of a work out then the Wii Fit, and by having timeslots to choose from, even if you only do 15mins you still feel great! Every session you do will include abit of cario work for 5-10mins and then focuses on either Core, Upper Body or Lower Body. You have fitness reviews every some many times you have used it, and its great to see the results.
Only downside is she does really work you, and you do end up shouting at her when she says things like dont forget to breath and you are panting!!!
for £9.99 i think it is well worth the money!
Reviewed by: Amazon Reviewer Rating: Date Reviewed: 10Jun2009 | | | Had this game for a month now and was hoping to have progressed more than I have. I havent stuck completely to my goals but have been walking and doing pilates instead, getting workout credit for them. The exercises started off quite easy for me and I had hoped they would get harder as they were supposed to do but they havent. There are different exercise routines to work on eg, cardio, upper body, lower body etc. I try to do 2 x 15 mins on different ones and this may be why my exercises havent progressed. I find that there is a lot of repeating the same exercise which I find really boring. Also, when you pick 2 different routines you have to go through the 5 min warm up again!! dull! There is no comment on your progress. You have to go look at it yourself. I have still not unlocked any new music or rooms even though I have completed nearly 20 workout days! Still it is good value for only 9.99 especially if you do want easy exercises.
Reviewed by: Amazon Reviewer Rating: Date Reviewed: 09Jun2009 | | | Firstly, I would like to say that My Fitness Coach does what it says it does. The workouts change every day and the options for altering focus (cardio, upper body, lower body etc) are quite varied. The music is uninspiring and quite boring and the graphics are relatively basic, although sufficient for its intention. Being able to use a step, weights and a balance ball provide some added variety. There is no option to monitor your progress however which would have been helpful and motivating. I have just bought the EA Sports Active and for me, it exceeds My Fitness Coach in every way. My Fitness Coach is a decent interactive fitness tool that can provide a good, solid workout. But with EA Sports Active, I am already looking forward to tomorrows workout whereas with My Fitness Coach, I was getting a bit bored.
Reviewed by: Amazon Reviewer Rating: Date Reviewed: 23May2009 | | | Fab for those who really want to work out regularly as the workouts are always different and specifically designed for you. The trainer asks you whether something is too hard or too easy so she can change it for next time. Much more aerobics orientated and more fun than wii fit as it is a continuous workout rather than stopping and starting.
Reviewed by: Amazon Reviewer Rating: Date Reviewed: 20May2009 | | | Lets get one thing clear - this is not a game, so if you are looking for game-type play, or ways to play with the Wii Fitboard, this is not for you. What it is, is a very good exercise program. Think of fitness DVDs. They may be fun the first time, but they quickly get repetitive. My Fitness Coach can give you an exercise routine of your choice of length (15-90 minutes in 15 minute gradations), with a difficulty level that you can adjust, and workouts that concentrate on various elements - cardio, upper or lower body, flexibility, core strength and more, and if you have excercise equipment (weights, step, etc) you can incorporate them. You choose the focus for that day, and it sets the type of routine. There are many different types of excercises available and each time you use it, the system designs a new one for you so it is never repetitive. When I first started, I did find it a little too easy (having been going to the gym for many years) but after ramping the difficulty up quickly, Im now on challenging workouts.
The system does have a method for you to track your progress - you start by inputting quite a few details as to weight, fitness level and measurements, and as you progress those get tracked, but it is quite long term. There is no week to week progress. And although you are encouraged to design a weekly exercise commitment, there is no calendar for you to see how well you are keeping to it.
The Exercise instructor may not be lifelike, but shes close enough and co-ordinates very smoothly with the music. Shes easy to follow, and if you are not sure of the exercise, there is a tutorial that will guide you in the proper movement for that exercise. She also gives useful encouragement and tips with each exercise and they are not repetitive either.
The instructor also has various different backgrounds for the workouts, and if you stick to your planned weekly commitment, you are rewarded with new ones. They arent high tech, but are good enough. Probably the only thing I find a little tedious are the music tracks. No matter what style I pick, they all sound the same. I suppose it has to fit with the beat for the exercises.
I have bought exercise DVDs in the past (famous people, exercise coaches) and got bored with all of them. I have had My Fitness Coach for a few months now and am keeping to my fitness plan, thanks to the endlessly varied routines that it can provide.
The only reasons I havent given it 5 stars are for the music, and the lack of calendar to track the number of sessions Ive done.
Reviewed by: Amazon Reviewer Rating: Date Reviewed: 16May2009 | | | Bought this product because of the postive reviews, havent explored all areas on the dvd yet.
I have explored the yoga which is quite difficult especially if you are new to yoga.
I have done the lower body workout, the thing I did hate here was that every so often she kept on stopping to have a break, which in a sense is good but if you want to be constantly moving I think when shes taking her break you should carry on with what ever she was doing before she stopped, the positive thing about the lower body workout is that on the screen it tells you before hand whats coming next, so if its time to use weights that is shown with the next exercise, just get your weight ready as they do appears so quickly in her hands.
I have also done the overall body cardio, this is intense, if you are doing the 15mins workout, she is constantly on the move and doesnt stop until the time gets down to around 7mins left on the clock or so, this was fun and I sure did get the workout required with muscles aching.
When you start the DVD you can do the exercise as a guest and from there choose if you want to do 15min and so on, you also can choose what workout you want ie cardio etc.
If you are going in as yourself and creating a profile so the fitness coach can assess your physical strength and weight, it tells you to measure various parts of your body, you can choose to skip these parts if you havent got the equipment to help measure your body parts or calculate your current weight. Then it tells you to count your pulse, then it asks you to do some jumping jacks, with this on the screen it ask if you can do up to 50, you can do up to whatever your body allows you to, it doesnt have to be the recommended amount stated, once your done with the jumping jacks, you input how many you have done, then it moves onto crunches, on the screen for the crunches it asks if you can do up to 60, so you count how many you have done and confirm it, then it moves onto squats, there it also ask if you can do up to 60, whatever you have done you then confirm, after confirming she then tells you what sort of exercise shell be doing with you, with me because I didnt put all the correct details about my body measurements, she said I would be doing a low intensity workout, she then shows the days and ask you to pick what days you can commit to and how long for each workout, the time ranges from 15mins to 75mins, after that is completed, you are now ready to begin, just choose the environment you want to work in, the exercise you want to do and away you go.
It is a great dvd but I am going to invest in the wii fit also, and take turns playing both

Reviewed by: Amazon Reviewer Rating: Date Reviewed: 25Apr2009 | | | When we got rid of the xbox in lieu of the wii, the only thing missing was my Yourself!Fitness trainer Maya. Lo and behold, here she is, on wii as My Fitness Coach Ive noticed some subtle differences between the 2 but essentially it is exactly the same. Yay!
Reviewed by: Amazon Reviewer Rating: Date Reviewed: 24Apr2009 | | | I have loved using this - hopefully the proof will be in a new look!!!
Reviewed by: Amazon Reviewer Rating: Date Reviewed: 23Apr2009 | | | My Fitness Coach is pretty much the same as you would get with a regular workout DVD. It was disappointing that they didnt include many features related to the wii or include the wii Fit balance board as an option for additional equipment. One plus for My Fitness Coach was that 30 min of exercise took about 30 min, not like the wii Fit where you have to spend over 1 hour to get 30 min of exercise. A negative point was that many of the exercises arent explained and, especially with the yoga, it was difficult to know if you are getting the move/pose right.
Reviewed by: Amazon Reviewer Rating: Date Reviewed: 22Apr2009 | | | Much quicker than the wii Fit, no waiting for the screen to change while reading the same stuff over again. Would have been a good idea to include a change of trainer at present only one woman. Too early to say really but does get the heart beating (not a bad thing)
Reviewed by: Amazon Reviewer Rating: Date Reviewed: 21Apr2009 | | | This is FAB!! you gear the exercises to you and what time you have to do them. Each exercise is different and the backgrounds and music can all be changed to your personal taste. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!!!
Reviewed by: Amazon Reviewer Rating: Date Reviewed: 28Mar2009 | | | Following the initial set-up and assessment I have now completed 4 workouts. I like the style of the workouts but Im finding them quite easy at the moment but having told Maya this, she has promised to increase the intensity of the workouts so that should make them more challenging. What I dont like about this is the lack of proper warm-ups/cool downs. I did the inital assessment without warming up and consequently my calves are really aching! Otherwise, the range of exercises is very good and she has a clear and conscise way of delivering the instructions. I like the backgrounds but the music isnt brilliant, sounds quite similar to me - perhaps i just need to turn it up! The other things I dont like are that there are too many resting periods (although i just repeat the previous exercise through these and there doesnt seem to be an option to skip or pause the workout (e.g if the doorbell rings or something!) Ill keep at it and hopefully the intensity will increase, if not, its back to Davina for me!

Reviewed by: Amazon Reviewer Rating: Date Reviewed: 24Mar2009 | | | well after having the WII fit board for a while i unlocked every game and level, However, in the morning i never got the sore muscle ache that means you are working areas you never knew you had. It never managed to elevate my heart rate, well maybe on the running bit but i didnt sweat.
So i sold it on ebay and got My fitness coach.
Couple of things. this is better that other celeb dvds because after a while the things that they say get ingrained in your brain. this does not and it changes when you put it on and she stops and asks if you are ok. If you are not she will adjust them to your levels of fitness. or speed them up if you need more feel the burn
I think from a phycological point you are not looking at a slim celeb and you dont need to keep looking at them thinking i need to be like that which i hate. these celebs have ex marines and production teams making them loose weight to make a dvd in the end. Its like well if we give you this at your disposal our production team will give you money to make a dvd. not good.
At the moment i hurt from doing squats and although its not nice and sore its good to know that it is working when you need a cushion to sit down. You also dont need much room,i do it in a space in the living room thats about 5x5 feet ish.
all in all its great and im glad that i traded in the wii board for this i will be getting a gym ball soon too because you can incorporate that in to the exercises.
Reviewed by: Amazon Reviewer Rating: Date Reviewed: 17Mar2009 | | | I bought the Fitness Coach cos I got bored with the Wii Fit. I wanted a good workout without stop starting all the time. I love this one...set up takes a while but it is sooo worth it. The fact that she adjusts your workout (if you found it too easy or too hard) makes sure that you stay challenged so you progress all the time. I did it for a week now and Im totally addicted, didnt get bored yet as no workout is like the other and there are always new elements coming up which keeps it interesting. I have lost 3 pound in this first week...if thats not keeping me intersted and motivated..what will?! I can only recommend it to everybody!!!!
Reviewed by: Amazon Reviewer Rating: Date Reviewed: 16Mar2009 | | | Used twice at present - excercises so far are very repetitive, no stretching and cool down exercises are included in the cardio section. Music is very non-descript and is over-ridden by the trainers voice. Not sure at the moment whether this is better than watching a normal fitness CD.
Reviewed by: Amazon Reviewer Rating: Date Reviewed: 16Mar2009 | | | Ive just had my first workout with this programme and I think its brilliant! Ive been using Wii Fit for ages for fitness, but definately feel that this is a much better workout. Its tailor-made, just for you. It also shows how many calories youve burned off at the end of the session. You can also add any workouts you do away from the programme (ie. walking, cycling, swimming). I feel that Im going to have a lot of fun as well as exercising for a long time to come (sorry Wii Fit!).
PS. Youll want to invest in a measuring tape as it asks you for your measurements and wants you weight in pounds (so if you work in stones, you need to google!).
Reviewed by: Amazon Reviewer Rating: Date Reviewed: 13Mar2009 | | | This is great as an alternative to a fitness DVD. You dont do the same workout time after time so keeps you motivated. Not really a game like Wii Fit, more of a workout.
Reviewed by: Amazon Reviewer Rating: Date Reviewed: 13Mar2009 | | | This is a great exercise game, it challenges you and changes your program as you get fitter. It also chooses a program for you when you first start the game, on your weight/ body-size etc.You can change the program that is recommended for you if you like E.G the game my choose cardio program you can do upper body if you wish. The only drawback is you cant stop it if you want to you have to wait for the rest breaks. it also repeats its self quite often, but if you can get over this it makes you work hard (its up to you the more you put in the more you get out of this game). REMEMBER ITS ONLY A GAME
Reviewed by: Amazon Reviewer Rating: Date Reviewed: 12Mar2009 | | | I have been doing the wii fit for about 3 months now and still really enjoy being able to pick and choose what I do, AND for how long. I bought the Fitness coach to extend the workouts. I think the two combined are great, it definately stops the boredom factor setting in. The good thing with My fitness coach is that you can up the difficulty in some areas and decrease in others, progressing at a steady pace. The aerobic sections are killers!!! I have never been one for gyms and so this form of exercising suits me totally. Obviously either product needs commitment. For me they are both great. Waiting for wii fit 2 to come out! Love em both.
Reviewed by: Amazon Reviewer Rating: Date Reviewed: 03Mar2009 | | | As an uncoordinated bloke, despite the obvious attractions, I wouldnt dare venture to an aerobics class again! However, this program solves such problems and offers a complete individualised fitness progamme! It offers the chance to work on various aspects of fitness or areas and even affords the opportunity to comment upon how you view the intensity of activities, whereupon they are adjusted in future sessions. It really is excellent!
Reviewed by: Amazon Reviewer Rating: Date Reviewed: 02Mar2009 | | | After having the Wii Fit game I brought this game in hope it would be as enoyable as it. The Wii fit even on the more intense workouts are still enjoyable. This game is just like an exercise video just with options of what type of area to concentrate on plus choice of music, scenery and camera angles.
And just like an exercise video I have rearly used it as it lacks the enjoyment although the time I have spent on it has worked me out into a sweat. It could be improved by the player being able to pix and choose their favourite elements of the routine.
The game is good for what it is an exercise video and personal progression monitor.
