This is by far one of the most fun games to play with really good graphics. You can zoom into the action, interfaces work really well, short cut keys are excellent and character skills are unique. You control whether a character and npcs become fighters or rangers or mages by the skill they use and this increases the more they are used, spells, ranged or melee weapons. Armour and weapons and spells are level restricted again bringing a measure of strategy in geting you to hold on to those items found early on. Not as intense as Neverwinter nights Neverwinter Nights 2 (PC DVD)or as limited as Baldurs gate Baldurs Gate Compilation (PC DVD). All in all a very addictive game, once I had to remind myself to sleep as I played the game 5hrs solid.

Trouble is there are too many annoyances to play this through to the bitter end. For starters, you constantly find spells that cant be used. Nature Magic is a skill that doesnt seem to ever increase in strength. My main archer had increased to level 10 while the secondary Nature Magic user was stuck down at 5 (and had started at 3 I think). The real trouble though is in the plot development and mapping. Theres just no feedback to indicate where to go, so you find yourself going round in circles. Theres a map which shows immediate surroundings, but that isnt labelled, and cant be zoomed out enough to get a clue as to where to go, or where youve been. The level of map above that does not show exactly where you are - its too vague, just labelling which area you are in. The nature of the game is one where you are constantly prevented from going in any direction by trees, mountains and the like, forcing you to navigate round like it were a maze - this too is frustrating and compares badly with other games of this ilk.
The choice of magic spells is very limited - the user interface puts two spells for you to quickly choose - but its already very cluttered - you quite often click on a character accidentally. I would have liked: 1) A better variety of magic spells available, automatically chosen according to circumstance 2) Character use potions when necessary 3) Signposts and in-game talking to prompt you in going a certain way. 4) Character levels rise correctly for magic users. 5) More of a sense of achievement for doing quests. 6) Less junk treasure, and automatic picking up of gold. The armour and weaponry I had found in the first hour of game play was the same as I used several hours later, when I gave up.

I found the characters easy to use and move, the best bit being it was really easy to use all of your team players at the same time where in other games you have to swop or not have too much control. The story line was ok and i think by the time i got to the end of the game, i was sorry there wasnt more to do. Id recommend this game to people new to adventure games, for the ease of use and also for people who like to do every little thing, you know find all the gold/armour or complete all quests type of thing. Chewing gum for the eyes for the more advanced players, but i really enjoyed it. Maybe more for chicks than guys, enjoy!
