TO ME THE SIMILARITIES IN THIS GAME ARE INTRIGUING AND I CANT HELP WONDERING IF THESE PEOPLE WHO WERE INVOLVED IN THE GAME ACTUALLY INSPIRED MILITARY THINKING TO SOME DEGREE OR PERHAPS EVEN LIASED WITH SAME.....OR MAYBE NOT!.....ANYWAY THE GAME IS VERY GOOD AS YOU ALTERNATE OCASSIONALLY FROM THE SKY TO THE GROUND MISSIONS. SOME OF THE MISSIONS CAN BE TOUGH ENOUGH BUT THESE ALSO SEEM SPORADIC THROUGHOUT THE GAME AND DONT SEEM TO BE IN A CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER WHICH IS GOOD AND UNPREDICTABLE. THE GRAPHICS ARE VERY RESPECTABLE WITH SOME VERY NICE GROUND/WATER DETAIL. EVEN THE FLIGHT TRAINING AT THE BEGINNING IS VERY INTUITIVE AND WELL DONE, YOU GET THE HANG OF THE HANDLING/CONTROLS THROUGH EACH LEVEL OF FLIGHT TRAINING EASILY AS THE TRAINERS VOICE CONVEYS EMOTION IS VERY CLEAR AND AT THE SAME TIME STERN AND ITS DONE IN SUCH A WAY THAT YOU REALLY DO FEEL ENCOURAGED AND PART OF AN IMPORTANT TEAM EAGER TO GO OUT AND DO YOUR BEST FOR THE UPF. | | Sony | Ico ps2 | I wont go into detail about what this game is about, as theres plenty of reviews here that do that, instead Ill review my personal experience of the game.
Being slightly bored with the "next gen" consoles and feeling unfulfilled with the constant FPS/Driving/Party games or bland adventure games on them, I had the urge to play something special, So I dusted off my PS2 and grabbed a copy of ICO. Everything from the music, graphics, art style and extremely tight fluid controls are spot on.
ICO is one of those rare games that does something special, it gives you something in return while playing, a warm fuzzy feeling inside, In short its very fulfilling and rewarding.
With most games I play, I sometimes feel Im wasting time and should be doing something more constructive, but with ICO I dont have that feeling, quite the opposite. ICO is akin to reading a good book rather than a celebrity magazine, or watching an insightful documentary instead of a reality TV show, its a rewarding feeling, actually its an inspiring feeling and I wish more games were made like this.
Having finished ICO I proudly placed it on my shelf next to my other favorite games (KOTOR, Zelda, Resident evil 4, Fahrenheit) and whenever I look up at it I smile inside as I remember how great it is. | | Namco | Pac Man Rally PS2 | Pac-Man World Rally is possibly the best kart styled racer on PS2 - especially for people that just drop in and play one or two games. The graphics and colourful and crisp, the controls are effective and sturdy, with a decent turning circle and the musics chirpy too. Infact Id go as far to say that this is the closest youll get to a Mario Kart on PS2 (including Crash Tag Racing).
Theres plenty of tracks, shortcuts, weapons, silliness and when your playing with friends, we spent a whole evening on this one game and didnt get round to any of the others wed bought over.

| | UBI SOFT | Kengo Master of Bushido (PS2) | Its rare that I write reviews, but I have to step up on this one and mention just how impressed I am with this.
Im a big fan of the fighting game genre, I enjoy learning skills and moves and using them correctly - avoiding button mashing etc...
This game is one of the best fighting games Ive ever played, and I only bought it last week. For a game as old as this is still holds its own - the animation, graphics and sound are all excellent. There is a real atmosphere to the game that transports you back to fuedel Japan. The training minigames are fun and relaxing to play (except perhaps for the Bamboo slashing one, as its frustrating the control).
The mechanics of the game are incredible, and although the health bars take away a lot of the tension Bushido Blade held all those years ago, being struck by a full combo of 3 or 4 hits will pretty much end you. Everything is so fluid and it really pays to learn to play with skill, rather than button mashing luck, which is a pitfall for many fighting games.
I highly recommend this for fans of fighting games, or even those interested in Japanese history and all things Samurai. Its cheap as chips now, so dust off the old PS2 and get playing! | | Amazon Reviewer | 09/01/2009 01:01:01 | | |

| | Activision | Guitar Hero III Legends of Rock 3 + Guitar PS2 | I had the opportunity of playing this on the Wii console not long after it came out and had great fun jammin with a mate and my girlfriend. So i sprung for my own copy on the PS2 which saved me a pretty penny as i was only expecting a PS3 version, a console i dont have and dont want. So knowing that i could just dust-off my PS2 and get rockin was awesome!
I completed the game in easy mode on Boxing Day, the day after i got it and am now battling my way through the more advanced levels which is keeping the fun alive.
At first some of the songs were alien to me but i soon found myself downloading loads of the songs from the setlist to my I-pod so that i could take GH3 with me and air-guitar as i walked to work.
However some of the songs then got old and became more annoying to play than entertaining, hence the 4-star rather than 5-star rating, but thats the joy of guitar hero, once youve got the axe and the basic skills, the next version and its new setlist become a must have (ive already ordered GH4:World Tour).
Overall, its a great game if youre on your own, even better if youre with mates and top marks when youre with drunk mates. Awesome for parties and as the new Kramer guitar breaks apart at the neck its fairly easy to transport around to various party spots and mates houses.
