Dont be fooled by the underdressed women that hint towards a tacky game that uses sex appeal to sell. Behind it all is actually a solid fighting game, worthy of any avid beat em up fans collection. For the time, it featured some genuinely unique ideas, the main one being the destructable arenas, allowing your characters to plummet of buildings and through church windows before carrying on your battle in an entirely new enviroment. Also new was the addition of some briliant tag moves. Choose a particular character combination, and youll be able to execute an easy to do Tag Special, in which your two characters come on screen at the same time to join forces against your opponent. The fighting itself can be a little simplistic, and the counter system perhaps needs a little work to stop battles turning into a constant counter fest, but overall, this is one of those games that its just to hard to dislike.

The games graphics are sublime, very difficult to find any flaws, and the fighting system is the best out there, with the grab techniques adding a new dimension to the genre. This game wipes the floor with its comparison Tekken Tag. Yeh TT is a pretty good game, but DOA2 is just so much better in every way. The pace of the gameplay is so fast and addictive youl hardly put it down, and with the ability to send your opponents flying through walls and over steep ledges before going after them to finish them off is amazing. The most feature packed beat em up yet. such a shame DOA3 is a (haha) Xbox exclusive.

The only problem I had was the storys (which make little sense) and the fact the game is easily completed even on Very Hard mode, but the versus fights and the tag team matches make up for it.
