Overall, Im very happy with my iPod. I prefer the seperate buttons of the 3rd Gen over the multi-use wheel of the 4th and of course its been a godsend for the commute to work etc.
The only problem Ive really had has been with the iTunes programme that you have to use on your computer to store the music files. After a particularly jarring computer crash (I use a PC by the way), I had to re-install my operating system (the admittedly flawed XP Home). After doing so, I plugged in my iPod and tried to boot up iTunes. Unfortunately, the reinstalled operating system didnt recognise my iPod from before the crash, treated it as a new one and promptly wiped it. I tried to boot up iTunes and it didnt work. OK. Fine. Yet another tale of XP angst. Except I wasnt able to reinstall iTunes - even uninstalling and reinstalling wouldnt work. Now I know that this is more down to XP being rubbish than the iPod and iTunes itself - nevertheless, the user-unfriendlyness of way the programme worked on the PC meant that I had a very expensive paperweight for the next six months until I got a new computer.

I bought one of the 20Gb I Pods with all the extras and what can i say, it cant be beaten. If your looking for a proper mp3 player, you cant beat the original and the best, the apple Ipod. Dont be fooled into buying other manufacturers copies of the i pod, theyre no where near as good , trust me its worth the xtra money to get THE proper mp3 player, The Ipod.
Thanks to Apple and to amazon for such speedy delivery on such a good item :)

I bought this iPod a little over a week ago and already I am very frustrated at it. When it first arrived it worked perfectly and I stored about 15 albums on it, which is about 220 songs. Then, as I tried to put another album on it afterwards it would either not recognize that I had put a CD into my hard drive, or it would import the CD but it would say that the length of each song was 0:00, which meant I couldnt play it.
When I charge my iPod (on the dock) sometimes it resets itself, and erases all of my music! This means I have to connect it to my computer, and update it again and again. It has done this repeatedly, and In sure Ive had to update it at least 10 times.
Also, sometimes when I play a song, it skips it on its own, all the way through the album, so I hadnt actually listened to a note! When it does this I have to reset it, and as I said before, this means it sometimes erases all my music, so I have to connect it to the computer and so completes the circle, leaving me feeling very angry.
Please dont buy this, I would recommend a Creative or a Philips MP3 player instead.
