EIDOSLara Croft Tomb Raider Legend Platinum PSPTomb Raider: Legend (PSP) By far the most enjoyable game on PSP/PS2! Excellent detail, great costumes, beautiful music and the scenery is absolutely stunning! But to be honest the best by far is the interaction Lara has with Winston and the others! Funny witty humour similar to the movies of Lara Croft! The controls seem more nimble too, easy to control her and jump around the environment. Enjoyable even for non Tomb Raider fans.5 out of 5Amazon Reviewer19/01/2009 01:01:01

CAPCOMMonster Hunter Freedom 2 PSPMy 9 year old got this for his birthday in 2oo7 and has played it for 360 hours according to the counter. It took a little time for him to get started as it is a little complex, but once he got going we never saw him again. Having a love of dinosaurs and monsters is probably a great help. If you can amuse your child for over 300 hours any other way I would love to hear about it. He STILL has not reached the final level. Brilliant. 5 out of 5Amazon Reviewer17/01/2009 01:01:01

SONYStar Ocean First Departure PSPFirst departure is essentially a remake of an RPG released on PS1 which never managed to make it to the shores of the UK. Thankfully, little has been changed from the excellent game that it originally was and many will take solace in the brilliant story which will unravel throughout the game. As with all RPGs, you take on the role of a young man who is trying to save his world. Unfortunately, Roddick doesnt realise that his world is simply one of millions which has been subjected to an interplanetary attack which is turning all its residents into stone! Cue earthlings turning up to help them and the dawning realisation that the only way to stop this is to go back in time to their world. With twists and turns a-plenty, the storyline will not dissapoint. The worlds have been beautifully drawn and the varied lands will be a joy to explore. There is a lot of depth for an RPG on PSP. Characters are all created as sort of 2D blocks although exploration takes place in a 3D world. It is the beauty of each location which will capture your imagination, especially when you stand at the harbour and look out over the sea, or when you stand at the highest point in the city to survey your surroundings. Graphically, this will not let you down. Gameplay consists of go here, get this and kill this along the way. Its really typical RPG stuff. The game uses real time combat and maps standard attacks to X, and the shoulder buttons to special. As you progress, youll obtain experience which can be used to upgrade skills that you have purchased. This unlocks greater stamina, strength or the use of abilities such as cooking or writing which is a pleasent side thought. What this allows is for you to create the characters that you want with the focus that you desire. What I really like about this game is the voice acting which never grows dull. This really breaks up the game and continues to steer you in the right direction. The music is also pretty memorable. The only thing that bothered me was backtracking to obtain certain skills. This really irritated me although regular ships make this less of a chore. I still think that this is easily one of the best RPGs on PSP alongside with Tales of Eternia and Final Fantasy Tactics. A great game. 5 out of 5Amazon Reviewer17/01/2009 01:01:01

SONYGod of War Chains of Olympus PSPThis game is incredible. Its my first experience with the God of War franchise, and what a stunner it is. If youve played one of the others youll be happy to play this, if you havent, youre in for a ride. This is easily the best game I have played in a good few years. The storyline is brilliant, mixing myth and legend with modern ideas and pulling it off is a rarety, but its done here and then some. There are standard and special attacks, all of which are easy to pull off, and easy to remember, despite there being a fair number of them. The ease of gameplay is something I found particularly refreshing. Kratos is relentless in this title and the feeling is more than portrayed to you as you wont be able to put it down. There are a few little puzzles, but nothing taxing, and it all helps to break up slaughtering people with a little thinking that after two minutes will have you well on your way again. There is also a touch of strategy in this game when it comes to enemies as some are a little too clever for your basic attacks, but specials come with the price of reduced health and reduced magic, and knowing when to us them can really help you out later on. There is enough difference in this action-packed chopem-up to prevent it becoming repetitive and continually upgrading and changing enemies help that too. My only, and I do mean only, complaint, is that I felt it finished too soon and suddenly, but I cant work out if thats because it really did, or because I played it so much I finished it in a few days and wanted more. Needless to say, I started it again. Go buy it, you wont regret it.5 out of 5Amazon Reviewer07/01/2009 01:01:01

EANHL 07 PSPThe gameplay is fantastic, with quick action sequences, its as close to the real thing as the PSP will get! The sound effects are spot on and the music is great. Its one of the best handheld hockey games you can buy. It truly captures the fun and the excitement of ice hockey, thats why I give it 5 stars5 out of 5Amazon Reviewer03/01/2009 01:01:01

Square EnixCrisis Core Final Fantasy VII PSPHaving played most of the Final Fantasy series minus number 11, Final Fantasy VII is and always will be the best RPG if not the best game ever released for consoles, and certainly no game has had the effect that FFVII has had. Square Enix were smart in marketing the FFVII franchise, with spin-offs like Dirge of Cerberus focusing on Vincent Valentine, two animated FFVII movies and now this the PREQUEL to FFVII. Someone said that this may be for suited to younger fans who picked up on the genre through the movie, I have to argue that point.. if youve followed it through untill now then Crisis Core finally puts the lid on the bottle completing the story. The battle system is indeed different and is more similar to that used in Dirge of Cerberus than the FFVII original and relies more on your reflex and ability to move as quickly as you can in order to avoid being hit. The downside, I somewhat felt it was too easy in normal mode, but Im not complaining.;. the BEST game out for PSP!5 out of 5Amazon Reviewer29/12/2008 01:01:01
