SilverlitPicoo Z Sky Challenger - Twin Pack with Laser Shooting ActionA joint Christmas present for my husband(55) and son(13) these helicopters fly beautifully, havent broken yet despite being used almost daily over the 3 weeks since christmas and have been voted best christmas present of 08 by both of them. Its great fun being a spectator too! Most successful present Ive ever bought and I didnt spend a fortune, what more can I say?5 out of 5Amazon Reviewer17/01/2009 01:01:01

Vivid ImaginationsRoary the Racing Car - R/C RoaryMy son is learning new skills with this car. You can turn off the sound effects, use it as just a push along, crash it or drive it with the remote. The remote is affected by sunlight and that is the only real downside for this tough little toy - in the UK this wont often be a problem :+}. The turning circle is about six feet (my son loves running and chasing - so I know). So it taught new skills or at least helped practice them and most of all it was and is fun. When hes older Ill get a more sophisticated RC car but now - well its doing a great job of being a toy that my son loves.5 out of 5Amazon Reviewer16/01/2009 01:01:01

SilverlitRadio Control Picoo Z HelicopterThis is a great helicopter for the money, takes a bit of mastering and you need a bit space. Ive mastered mine by taking it to work and flying it around the office - once in the air it gives a nice breeze to cool your colleagues ;-) so they cant complain. Take it outside when there is no wind and its even more fun, dont know how high it would go because I chickened out when it went above the house. Looks good with the flashing LEDs at night. Recommended... As for the combat readiness of the unit I can report that after a couple of attacks by the cat it has yet to receive any serious damage. Overall a great item and great fun to annoy the pets with. 5 out of 5Amazon Reviewer08/01/2009 01:01:01

SilverlitPicoo Z Sky Challenger - Twin Pack with Laser Shooting ActionI bought these for my hubby. He and his brother were occupied for the rest of Christmas day flying them around the room and trying to shoot each other down. If you buy them as a gift for someone, note what I didnt, which is that they need 12 AA batteries which are not included (thankfully my father-in-law had some and saved the day). The helicopters are quite stable and easy to fly, but it takes practice to master not flying them straight into the wall. 5 out of 5Amazon Reviewer27/12/2008 01:01:01

SilverlitRadio Control Picoo Z HelicopterThis toy really s great fun. While some say it only goes left e.t.c you can trim it to get rid of the problem. By turning clockwise or anticolockwise you can increase or decrease the speed. Not only that, but it is so durable that I had to step on it (by mistake) to break it; and that only broke the tail stick thing (not propellor) which meant that it just flies in circles. A really freat buy!5 out of 5Amazon Reviewer27/12/2008 01:01:01

SilverlitRadio Control Picoo Z Metro Fly HelicopterI was not even planning to buy this toy, let alone know about it in the first place... My work Colleague just mentioned about it and then i just watched a couple of youtubes and then the next thing im handing my credit card details to Amazon and the best part if im not buying one but 2 one for me and my colleague... About the Picco Z itself... Well im pretty impressed with its durability because ive crashed it a million times already and except for the tail rotor everything has held up to what they say it will... But saying that i guess the people who make or sell this stuff know that the tail rotor will not survive the rigerous crashes so the spare rotor was a welcome smile... U do need practice and a bit of modification like a paperclip on the nose to make it move forward and to give more stability and trust me once u are up and running ull be impressed. The 10 min might sound too little but with the amount of effort u have to put in to control and fly this baby it feels like ur up for 30 min at least... It is an indoors toy because even the slightest breeze can throw u off course and give the choper a mind of its own but hey on a good sunny day with no wind ur gold...5 out of 5Amazon Reviewer20/06/2008 01:01:01

SilverlitX-Twin R/C X-Twin Jetthis little plane is brilliant, it goes out far enough to get a good fly about, easy to manouvre after about 20 mins of getting used to it, 20 mins flying time per charge only 30 mins to charge, great fun for me and my 3 year old daughter, got it stuck up 3 trees and on top of a building on my first day, but after that no problems with the controls, excellent value for money.5 out of 5Amazon Reviewer17/02/2008 01:01:01

Crystal Global Trading CompanyR/C Flying SaucerI got this for Christmas last year. True,it only goes up and down but then blowing it gives it sideways movement. Admitedly my cat is rather more wary now than she used to be as hovering above a door then descending at speed is remarkably interesting when theres nought worth watching on the telly. All in all with a little practice it is fun to drift around the room, land, take off and drift a bit more, land between the mug of tea and the bowl of peanuts, take off, drift a bit etc. On the downside mine wore out after about 8 weeks of intense use but it was a very enjoyable 8 weeks and I highly recomend this. 5 out of 5Amazon Reviewer02/12/2008 01:01:01

MattelR/C Cyber ShockerI have recently bought a cyber shocker and I have tested it on all terains and I think it is the best remote controled toy I have ever had. It impressed me with its speed as it goes very fast. The battery holds alot of power and runs for along time. My favourite feature on it is the transforming feature on it, it switches from explore mode to attak mode to defence mode but my favourite is explore mode. Cyber chocker has two attacks, tail slam and spin attack. I recormend it to children and adults.

UnbrandedPowerZ-200This is one of those boy's toys that is only fully appreciated if you are a grown-up, but of course it's easier to justify if you've got a child (the smaller the better, then they can't fight you for it).

However, whatever age you are, this is a great introduction to the hobby. When I were a lad, model aeroplanes were quite hard work - even if you bought a kit, the bits of balsa were never properly cut out and you had to play your Mum and Dad off against each other to be allowed a knife sharp enough to finish the job. Then you had to cover the frame in tissue paper and asphyxiate the household with the acetone-based dope used to seal the surfaces. Even the glue was pretty heady stuff, but it never occurred to anyone I knew to make that the hobby...

Anyway, none of that is required here, the whole model being virtually complete, with motor and radio bits already installed. The only thing left to buy is a big pack of AA cells to power the transmitter (the bit of the radio you hold), but the plane's batteries and a charger are included. You have to set up the wing, which takes about 5 minutes, and there are few stickers to brighten it all up, but you've got two hours to do this, as the battery will need charging up. This is not a great hardship, as the main alternative forms of motive power are elastic (wimpy) and internal combustion (expensive, temperamental and noisy).

The remaining thing you will need is a lot of space. Do not underestimate this - this might just be a toy aeroplane, but it can cover a lot of ground, and it takes some practice to be able to land it back at your feet. You also need plenty of height (i.e. no power cables or blocks of flats!) and as little wind as possible - if there's a light breeze at ground level, it's probably blowing quite hard fifty feet up and it would be a shame to lose your plane on its first outing.

Flying the thing is great fun, and my initial fear that the batteries would run out after five minutes proved groundless. In fact, they last nearly 20 minutes, by which time you will probably be exhausted, too. Although light (8oz. all up - and I don't care if I'm prosecuted for not being metric) the plane is quite durable, although the points where the wing tips hinge up is a weak point. I put some tape over the leading edge, and this seems to have helped preserve it.

£80-90 might sound a lot of money for a model aeroplane, but believe me, it's chicken-feed compared to the prices of the serious kit (e.g. £300+ for a helicopter, not including the engine or radio). In any case, it would be difficult to buy the bits for less, and you're spared the difficulty of knowing what to get. The downside is that the radio parts are difficult to transfer to other models, should you wish to, but if you get the bug, you will probably want something more sophisticated next time, anyway.

Late news - having failed to heed my own advice and chosen a small playing field to fly in, my plane is currently parked 50 feet up a tree! Still in one piece, though (as far as I can tell). Nice to be proved right, I suppose...

UnbrandedHitari Turbo KingThis sleek looking buggy is fast and nippy and for the price its worth getting.

It features two gears high and low and turbo boost, easy to handle and takes 6 hours+ to charge. I recommend all night its like a rocket in the morning, but thats not all. Its air filled tyers make it easy for the turbo king to manage rough off road ground.

I purchased this item last year and i stil enjoy it today. the only cons are that you carn't send this baby off any high drops but you can go over ramps but and i mean but dont try to flip it over tos it or attemped any deathdifying drops with it or you will find your self with a screw driver in your hand. if your looking to get this get it, it will last you for ages but look afte rit.

UnbrandedSky ScorcherThe Scorcher I have is about 3 years old now. Makes a great beginner RC plane to fly on calm wind days. Flight time is about 2 minutes, plan on spending more time charging the battery then flying it. Stickers on the plane start pealing off from age causing drag to the airflow, so rip then off when you can. Overall it makes good fun entertainment for the whole family. Flight range is about 300 ft. Turns, climbs and descents are controlled by power output from both engines which again only last about 2 minutes. 4 out of 5FitzpatrickGF12/08/2007 18:55:04

UnbrandedBlade Runner 2 HelicopterAn excellent product, providing very addicitive fun. But it is NOT as tough as a brick, and you WILL crash it while learning to fly. After much fun, and many crashes, simple repairs are posssible with ordinary `invisible` tape. This is described in the maual. Replacement rotors are available for a nominal fee. As your skill increases, flying becomes steadily more fun, and crashes steadily more rare. I can`t leave this thing alone. It is too much fun to waste on a child! 4 out of 5Dave08/01/2007 15:29:18
