Carl LewisMT15I have one of these, I am 20 stones and five feet tall and can use it with ease. My son who is nine years old and autistic with poor co-ordination can also use and enjoy it. If you turn the resistance up it is very easy to only walk. The instruction book sets out a regime of walking and running so clearly the machine is built for the job. For the price and the fact that it folds I think it is excellent value for money. It obviously isn`t going to be as good as the machines in a gym which are electric and vary the speed for you, but with a little practice the speed can be varied quite easily using different levels of resistance. An excellent product. 5 out of 5Serena24/09/2009 07:50:38

YorkInspiration TreadmillI bought the York Inspiration Treadmill and York Elliptical Trainer recently and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Both are quite large so you will need a lot of space but both are easy to assemble and the Treadmill folds up to save space. Both are sturdy and give you a lot of options. They are easy to operate and ideal for a newbie to home gym equipment (like me!) I have had great fun using them so far and it has really given my new routine a boost. Excellent value for money. 5 out of 5Anon10/07/2008 18:59:51

Pro FitnessFoldaway Non-Motorised TreadmillSo, I came out from Argos and had to cart it around for an hour or so. Being 23 kilos wasn`t the problem, just the size of it! But it sure does pay off. When I got home and opened my treadmill up, or should I say, tried to open my treadmill? You see, Argos had packaged the treadmill so well that I spent the first hour trying to open it, so I ended up wrecking the box to actually get it out. Something fell out of the box last, which I found to be the intruction manual. So, I first read the manual to see if this was going to be an easy job to set up. I personally found it extreamly difficult to set up. The manual missed out vital instructions as to where to connect wires up to the `computer`, so I had to work this out myself. Also another problem I found while putting it together was that I found that the handle bars were too wide for the main body frame of the treadmill so I had to bend the bars of the handles so I could fit it on. Despite these few mendable problems, I am finding this an excellent value for money treadmill. So far, other than stated, I have not found any problems with this treadmill and I would recommend it to anyone buying their first treadmill, especially if they`re on a tight budget. 4 out of 5Anonymous06/01/2008 10:48:24

ReebokI-Run Treadmill- Ice WhiteThis is my third i-run in a year, sadly this is not because I am addicted to buying them, it`s because they keep breaking down. Pro FitnessFoldaway Non-Motorised TreadmillThis is the worst thing I have ever purchased, I am taking it straight back to Argos. The belt does not even come close to tight enough to make the machine useable (and yes I did use the tool provided to tighten the belt up as far as it would go.) I understand that at the low price this is a strictly basic piece of equipment, but why sell it at all when it fails to provide the one function anyone would want it for? However if you are looking for an upper body work out this may be the bundle of junk for you as you will have to focus all your efforts on straining your arms to cling on while the belt (unable to support a consistant jogging pace) whirls round and round beneath you. When first setting out to buy a treadmill I felt my budget could only stretch to the cheapest model, now this machine has convinced me otherwise, thank you Pro Fitness. 0 out of 5Someone10/07/2007 08:09:31

NordicTrackE3700My wife and I have had this treadmill for five years - easy to use, loads of features (even dual fans), and more durable than the `cheap` alternatives. Never a moment`s problem with our unit. I think you can find treadmills for less, but I doubt you can find one this good for anywhere near the cost. 5 out of 5Jeff Johnson28/09/2009 07:56:15

ReebokRT2000This machine is a little expensive for me but definetly worth every penny. The previous York machine I had just doesn`t compare. And i`ve used my friends Proform machine and the reebok wins hands down. Its much nicer to run on, and its really quiet in comparison, very smooth. It is a bit bulkier but you`ll understand why when you start running and notice that it doesn`t shake like most treadmills, this is solid. Being a fitness fanatic, i workout every day, i use the gym 3-4 times a week but most of my daily exercise is done at home and i love using a treadmill, its great cardio and really works up a sweat. 5 out of 5Neil Gamon23/02/2008 09:50:13

YorkT510It`s a cheap treadmill, very good for those on a budget (and also on a diet considering maximum weight is 125kg!). I bought it 4 months ago and, while I was not using it daily until a few weeks ago, it`s now time for some maintenance because signs of tear & wear are starting to appear. I hear creaking noises when I step on it while running and a hissing sound from the motor or the belt like it`s touching something. I`m sure these are minor problems probably caused by the not-so-clean environment (treadmill sits on a carpet and there are cats in the house = a lot of hair near the moving parts) and will go away after some maintenance but unfortunately the manual doesn`t mention much about the subject besides lubrication. One thing I enjoy very much is the freedom to change the speed fast and easily making this treadmill great for HIIT training. Changing the incline is manual but I don`t mind because extreme inclines can hurt the back. I have it set on the highest incline I consider safe and I use it as a base to gauge the improvements in my performance. The calories estimation is far from precise and I don`t understand the reason it was included. Also the 3 `preset programs` are also pretty much useless. Overall, this treadmill is cheap, it`s durable and it`s very very simple. It was the perfect choice for me. 5 out of 5greek trainee15/10/2007 11:15:23

YorkPacer 2750Well made and very sturdy. My fist impressions were the LCD display seems a bit flimsy, but it works well and gives all the required read-outs. Motor speed adjustment easy and quick to change as is the manual incline setting. Overall, its a well constructed treadmill that should last a long time. Ignore the motor power rating, as it drives the treadmill without straining even on maximum load and has never tripped out or overheated. Buy one of these threadmills with confidence. 5 out of 5Big Tone05/08/2007 08:22:06

UnbrandedProfitness Sierra Motorised TreadmillI bought this treadmill off E-bay I had the same error 1 message. I managed to fix the problem on mine. Ignore the Reset rubbish you read about it does not work!! If you press down hard where the emergency stop switch is with the magnet on, you will find that the tread mill will start working let go and it stops (if not bear with me still something to try!!). I took the top cover off and behind where the emergency stop switch is there is the magnetic switch. This had worked loose on mine, so it was not seeing the magnet. After tightening this the machine worked a treat, I have had it 13 months so far and no problems. 4 out of 5Shane23/02/2008 09:50:22

Proform360PI`ve had this treadmill for a year and love it! It`s excellent value for money and the other reviewer has no idea what they`re talking about -- the belt runs smoothly and is excellent for good workouts (i.e., running). Assembly is minimal -- just attach the arms, display, and do a little basic wiring for the digital monitor. UnbrandedProfitness Sierra Motorised TreadmillI bought my treadmill second hand from a friend about six months ago. Overall the treadmill is fine and I haven`t had an E1 error message. I use the treadmill 3-4 times a week to run about 8-10k per session. The treadmill has got a few niggling problems though: 1. The belt does slip to one side. I have tinkered with the adjustment bolts on either side of the belt to make it run straight but it does eventually drift again. 2. The heart monitor function is a bit of a waste of time, it`s hard to use whilst running and I haven`t a clue what it is supposed to be letting me know. I am using a Polar monitor now instead. 3. The speedometer and the distance run indicator do not correlate e.g. I run for 60mins at 12kph yet the distance indicator says I have completed 10km after 1 hours running! I can`t tell if I am running slower than indicated or further than indicated. This is quite frustrating. 4. I also experienced a loud knocking noise. As far as I can tell it comes from the release bolt used to unlock the running platform so that it can be folded upward. I stopped the noise by placing a hessian shopping bag folded over a number of times under the area where the bolt is. This cushioned movement of the bolt / lock whilst the machine is in use and stopped the banging. Overall I paid #65 for the treadmill second hand, another treadmill would have to offer an awful lot more for me to part with another #950 to purchase it. I can probably live with the niggles ...... although the machine is getting a bit slow for me now......it must be working!! 3 out of 5Anon05/08/2009 07:44:10

ReebokTR2I bought one back in November 2003. Since then I have had two new motors. The first fixed under guarantee, but the latest one I will have to fix myself. Reebok sent the motor and fitting instructions, which were completely wrong. Another phone call another set of instructions, again completelly wrong. Hopefully the last set will work. When they tell you the motor is easy to change do not believe them they are not. With completely unreliable motors and really poor customer service, I will never buy another Reebok running machine again. So be warned, 1 out of 5Unreliable Machine23/02/2008 09:50:30

UnbrandedProfitness Sierra Motorised TreadmillI bought this treadmill from argos as well, just a couple of months back. I got the dreaded E1 message and even an E2 message... argos are sending me a new one, am frightful that the message may come back again after putting it together, which is a workout in itself. 1 out of 5Anon14/01/2008 09:59:24

HorizonTi51 HRCI purchased my Horizon Ti51 HRC as I wanted to upgrade from my smaller `beginners` treadmill. I paid £1000 for what I believed was a quality product. I weigh 13 stone and run about 10 - 15 miles a week on my treadmill so I dont believe it took an excessive pounding. I have to say this product has been a huge disappointment. Firstly the treadmill was very noisy with rattles and squeaks during operation which made it sound very cheap and flimsy. That aside my first problem occurred with the console display freezing up, it would not respond to controls for minutes after turning on before springing in to life after its little warm up period. This was fixed under warrantly (after a less than pleasant call to an extremely unhelpful horizon rep) and promptly started doing exactly the same thing again within days of the engineer fitting the new part. I decided to live with this little quirk. The second problem was more serious, whilst running at a steady clip the belt suddenly stopped for a fraction of a second then shot off again resulting in me almost crashing off the thing. This became a regular occurance with the motor often cutting out completely, I reported this and the engineer came out and suggested the belt needed lubricating (I had been doing this myself anyway). He lubricated the belt and fitted a new motor for good measure. Off and running again, for a while until surprise surprise.. same problem. I now decided to just use the treadmill for gentle jogs (too dangerous to get up to a decent speed). Anyway to bring this rant to an end I was jogging on the thing recently when the running deck started to feel spongy, I kept going then Ha HAAA.... my foot went straight through the running deck. It had split right down the middle. A blessing really as that that was the final nail in the coffin of this sorry piece of junk. It has now gone to the tip, I should have got the courier to drive it straight there and saved me the trouble. 16 months from brand new to garbage dump. There is much better than this available for a third of the price. 1 out of 5Hugh Jass19/11/2007 13:37:37

Horizon5.0T Elite TreadmillHeart rate monitor never worked properly, dealer unable to repair. Today, while walking, it suddenly shot up to full speed, throwing me off. Just lucky to have no broken bones. Reset tripped breaker, but motor won`t run. Even if repaired, I`d never feel safe on this machine again. NEVER will I ever buy another horizon fitness product. 1 out of 5J deBoer,06/04/2007 13:15:19

UnbrandedProfitness Sierra Motorised TreadmillAn awful treadmill. We bought one from Argos, after a month it stopped working, and gave a continous E1 Error. We got a replacement from Argos, put it together turned it on, and got another E1 Error. I`ve now told Argos to exchange it for another brand. No way am I waiting 3 weeks delivery to have another fail! 1 out of 5SlimBoiFat20/01/2007 11:25:09

TunturiJ4Fgreat treadmill - no fuss - reads well - runs smooth - fun programs - built in heart rate monitor is a great feature ...

Regardless of what the reviews say - this is a great product -

If your login 100km a week - you might need a bigger machine but if you like me - a 25 km a week guy - this is THE PRODUCT for you....

Carl LewisELP30This machine is big and bulky and a complete waste of space. I only came across this site because I am now trying to sell my one and wanted to see how much they sell for second hand. I am not even bothered about how much I sell it for I just want to get rid of it. I would not recommend anyone to buy it. I now have an orbitrek and it is much better. Not like gym equipment but much much better than the Carl Lewis. 1 out of 5Maria10/12/2005 12:24:46

Proform360PAvoid at ALL costs. This is a dangerous, expensive piece of junk. The belt slows right down as soon as you tread on it, and stops randomly and without warning, hurling you off unless you`re holding on for dear life. Even better, if you haven`t fallen off at that point, it then jitters and starts up again without warning. This cycle continues ad nauseum (I wanted to give it a proper chance). I could barely walk on it, and would never ever run on it. I`m too scared to go anywhere near it. Took hours of back-breaking work to put together, and cost a pretty penny - for what. 1 out of 5Extremely dissatisfied11/10/2005 20:44:36

UnbrandedProfitness Sierra Motorised TreadmillAlso bought from Argos. First one worked for just over two months and then produced the dreaded E1 error. Argos provided a replacement within days - no quibble. Have had it for less than a week and it is now producing the E1 error. There is obviously something very wrong with the motor or the wiring. Plan to try the technical customer support number 0845 6034120 before getting back to Argos. If this doesn`t work I fear I will have to change to another brand. 0 out of 5Bill25/04/2007 12:04:59

UnbrandedProfitness Sierra Motorised TreadmillBought one for xmas also from Argos and had the same `E1` problem. Managed to fix it by removing the cover exposing the motor and cables, checked for loose cables (with the power off!!). I then pressed the round button beside the power switch and kept it pressed for about 30 secs. This seemed to fix it. Switched it off and on a few times to check and it was fine. 0 out of 5Anon25/01/2007 09:24:45
