Mine did have an E1 error message but I fixed that - then the belt slipped to one side and made the most atrocious thudding noise (not sure that that was the belt though) - the faster you went the louder the banging. Wish I had invested in something a bit more sophisticated. Got mine in Argos.

Definately an awful treadmill!!! With mine, the Brushes of the motor have gone.... After ringing customer services and requesting a callback twice, went round electrical stores... 2nd one I got to said `These brushes are for an Argos treadmill aren`t they???` when I said yes he advised be careful, Pro Fitness will not sell you the brushes alone - they try to sell you the full motor! Am awaiting for a callback to corroborate this...

I brought 1 out of ad mag and got the e1 message. I just rang argos up and made out I got it from them(as they r only uk retailers) and they sent a tech guy out to fix it. It is some dodgy cable that was a manufactoring fault. Try it out. Good luck. scott.

I bought this treadmill off E-bay I had the same error 1 message. I managed to fix the problem on mine. Ignore the Reset rubbish you read about it does not work!! If you press down hard where the emergency stop switch is with the magnet on, you will find that the tread mill will start working let go and it stops (if not bear with me still something to try!!). I took the top cover off and behind where the emergency stop switch is there is the magnetic switch. This had worked loose on mine, so it was not seeing the magnet. After tightening this the machine worked a treat, I have had it 13 months so far and no problems.

I bought mine off ebay as good price, low and behold the dreaded E1 problem arose, switching off, my cure for this problem was to take cover off, push all the wires to make sure its connected, especially the rocker on/off switch, everything gets knocked about in transit, because computised it will not work, hope this works for you, let me know, I would be interested.

Also bought from Argos. First one worked for just over two months and then produced the dreaded E1 error. Argos provided a replacement within days - no quibble. Have had it for less than a week and it is now producing the E1 error. There is obviously something very wrong with the motor or the wiring. Plan to try the technical customer support number 0845 6034120 before getting back to Argos. If this doesn`t work I fear I will have to change to another brand.

great machine bought one on ebay at a fraction and it was ready to use in minutes. it has allowed me to pick the training level I am happy with a friend of mine paid over £1,000.00 for his fancy one and he said he wish he had saved his money as mine does just as much he was a bit sick after using mine. I think the others who written in saying they was not happy must have expected it to cook as well.

Bought one for xmas also from Argos and had the same `E1` problem. Managed to fix it by removing the cover exposing the motor and cables, checked for loose cables (with the power off!!). I then pressed the round button beside the power switch and kept it pressed for about 30 secs. This seemed to fix it. Switched it off and on a few times to check and it was fine.

An awful treadmill. We bought one from Argos, after a month it stopped working, and gave a continous E1 Error. We got a replacement from Argos, put it together turned it on, and got another E1 Error. I`ve now told Argos to exchange it for another brand. No way am I waiting 3 weeks delivery to have another fail!
