DeWaltD28113Very good unit! Bought one of those cheap ones - Titan - from Screwfix for about £25, but had to change it twice!! - Motor just started making funny noises then died! The DeWalt felt more robust and you could hear and feel the difference when you switch it on. Dont buy cheap brands! Go for the well known stuff. 5 out of 5Anon08/02/2008 18:24:00

HitachiG23MRJust bought one of these, one thing I really like is the 3 positions available for the handle. Put it straight out of the back for cutting with a zip disk, much easier/safer than the Makita 9005b it replaced. 5 out of 5Kelly06/07/2007 17:16:37

ChallengeXtreme Sander KitI think the sander is good. As everyone else I had trouble finding replacement pads then found some in Focus DIY. The make is McKeller and they come in a pack of 5 assorted palm sanding pads. The only cost £4.99 and are an exact match. 4 out of 5Zoe Ashton04/09/2007 17:46:06

ChallengeXtreme Sander KitI have had one of these sanders for over a year and have always find it easy to do a job, especially on windows sills. However, I too, have had problems in finding replacement sanding discs. My only alternative was to purchase black and decker sheets and trim to size. I then used a paper punch to align the correct holes. This can work out a bit expensive but remember the discs are good ones and last a lot longer. 4 out of 5Adrian05/08/2007 08:23:08

Performance PowerPro SandcritterI find this tool very useful and have used it to sand furniture. I am presently refurbishing my kitchen units and the Critter is doing the job. Only drawback is when I went to B&Q to renew my wire wool pad and they did not sell them! So I will "e" the Company.4 out of 513/02/2003 21:43:00

Skil7110Much like the 7115 model. The 7110 is available at Bauhaus [Deutschland] for 25€. In a futile attempt to rotate from delta-point sanding to flat edge: the only functional difference between the 7110 and 7115 is a piece of metal in the 7110, which PREVENTS the useful sanding pad `auto-clic` (rotation) feature from functioning. Looks like the marketing department had some heavy hands in the differentation of the two products. Otherwise the 7110 has all the same parts in the head. The [sparse] 20-language manual describes the entire use and maintenance of the 7110/5 in two pages. Picture 7, describes rotating the sanding head >120< degrees, to a fresh side of the sanding pad, when, after much use, the original delta point of the pad one becomes worn. Picture 7 I confused with the `exclusive` feature of the 7115, picture 4, `auto-clic`. Before I realized, I had removed the sanding head, and I noticed the design of the metal bracket prevents the rotation feature from working. Yet the bearings and springs are present underneath, along with corresponding notches in the head. Look into getting the cheaper 7110 modified to support the easy head rotation feature, by removing or modifying the plate. 3 out of 5None27/02/2007 11:57:25

ChallengeXtreme Sander KitI wasn`t dissapointed with this sanders performance. It gets right into the edges and is pretty powerful. It does the job great, and at a reasonable price. Although it does get pretty hot to hold after a while. Like the reviews before this though, I am having big trouble trying to find new replacement sheets. Which basically makes it a bit de-funct after you have used up the sheets provided. Which is why it`s getting a 3 and not a 4. 3 out of 5demonwillow19/10/2006 12:34:37

BLACK & DECKERKA160KBought this thinking it would be small and handy but in hindsight its too weedy for any big sanding jobs. It gets through lots of sanding paper -and they're not cheap! Its more like a small polisher or just for small fiddly sanding jobs. Very disappointed.3 out of 513/01/2004 10:35:46

ChallengeDetail SanderYou pay for what you get with DIY tools so this is fine if you're just too lazy to use good old fashioned sandpaper to smooth things out but its also very noisy, vibrates like mad and seems to make a lot of fuss for little result. Do yourself a favour, stick to sandpaper - you can get a heck of a lot for £12.992 out of 5Raybenuk13/01/2004 09:21:39

Power DevilPDW5206The small gear on my appliance also broke up after a few hours of intermittent use...2 out of 5DOUGIE21/03/2003 16:46:48

Power DevilPDW5206I have a Power Devil PDW5206 650 watt angle grinder, and am afraid I can't recommend it.

The gearhead has a small bevel gear that rides on the motor shaft and drives a big circular bull gear. The small gear teeth broke up after only a few hours of use. The electric on/off switch won't stay locked on, and in the middle of a grinding job it would slip to the off position. Maddening.

I don't know if repair parts are available. The grinder is made in China.

BLACK & DECKERSandstorm KA226DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!! I bought mine a few years back, and immediatly the plastic dust filter cover came of. And recently ( I haven`t used it in a while) after 5 minutes of sanding the whole sanding base (the part where you attach the sanding paper onto) came of.... Broken.... I would rate this lower than 1 of I could. Excuse my English, I`m Dutch. 1 out of 5anonymous04/02/2008 10:02:17

BLACK & DECKERSandstorm KA226I totally agree, I bought one of these useless machines, it doesen`t do what it claims to, ie get into corners, becaues the orbital action bounses the sander off ajacent wood. Also the diamond shaped end will not stay attached, and shoots off across the room every time you lift the machine off the surface you are supposed to be sanding. Mine is also going back to Homebace, but I have wasted money on the unused packets of sanding sheets that I bought. The machine is very noisey, and can`t be used for long, because the vibration numbs your hand. Previusly I owned a Bosh orbital sander, it was great and now I`m going to by a another one. Thanks for letting us know that the machine is no longer in producyion at least I wont be wasting any more time 1 out of 5None18/09/2007 13:48:32

BLACK & DECKERSandstorm KA226Bought this thinking it came with detail attachments IT DOES NOT! After a day hunting around after the elusive attachments, I finally found a B&D supplier who firstly, actually knew what he was talking about, however he contacted B&D only to be told that this model is now OUT OF PRODUCTION!!!!! So beware, I couldn`t find attachments in any stores or on the net, mine is going back first thing tomorrow. Very very very disappointed. B&D website is next to useless too, feedback form doesn`t even work and there wasn`t a phone number on the entire site. You need to contact their dealerships! What a pain and waste on a day! 1 out of 5KA266 - dissapointing!08/01/2007 15:30:29

Challenge6ins Hobby Bench GrinderI have this bench grinder. It is ok as long as you don't ask too much of it.

It wil grind tools/metal ok, but being only 150 watts it is easy to stop the wheels by pushing too hard, especially if you have a wire brush wheel like I have. If you can put up with this then fine, but then again, what do you want for £15.

For a cheap grinder, it will suffice.
