FujitsuSiemens AMILO Desktop Si 3535Hi I brought this a month ago, taking a chance as I could not find any reveiws!!! firstly swift delivery! getting it set up was easy....Im not technically minded but managed......after a quick phone call to the supplier!! I could not find the wireless usb stick to connect to the box....its underneath the keyboard! genius! I have had no problems with the software, mouse or keyboard. you will need to buy a HDMI cable, my computer is wired up to the tv. It does all the downloading itself, which doesnt take long and no cds to load! definatley worth it! 5 out of 5lou22/07/2009 12:51:13

AcerASP M3640 3GBBought this desktop for my partner who is addicted to pc games requiring lots of memory (i.e. War strategy games). So far it has performed excellently with no hitches whatsoever. Has ample memory and speed for lots of games and storing data. All in all, I would say the guy in Comet was spot on when he said it would do the trick. The service was quick, easy and pleasant and just what a customer looks for when purchasing a product. A1 5 out of 5TIM-DIGGY07/11/2008 14:26:09

HEWLETT PACKARDA150UKHP has done it again, I have spent over 3 months looking for a new business computer and having contacted independent dealers and the multiples, found that no small retailer could match the criteria that we required from the machine at a competetive price. I contacted HP who were as usual extremely helpful and assured me that this machine would fulfill our requirements, they are absolutely right, well done HP, if you are looking for a well built, high grade machine with good back up look no further that the HP Pavilion A150UK5 out of 5J James10/07/2003 18:21:25

ACERG500 AMD2600+I was only looking for a base unit and I found the Aspire G600 for £700 with corded keyboard and optical mouse (both of high quality). For this kind of money I was expecting an Athlon XP 2200+ at best, so the 2600+ was a welcome bonus. The 512MB PC2100 ram is quick, as is the hard disk.
The two optical media drives are reliable and responsive, and as a gamer I was pleased to have an ATI Radeon 9000 64MB, which outperforms and has more hardware trickery than the more commonly offered Nvidia GeForce 4MX (try to find another GPU on a PC labelled mid-level).

The quick access CD player buttons on the tower (which is quiet and well ventilated) are a gimmick but do no harm. Sound support is good with an integrated EAX2 compatible AC'97 stereo chip, but the bundled speakers lack a little refinement.

However I can recommend this system as excellent value for money - you get great stability and speed for a relatively modest price. Note you get the recovery CD after mailing your warranty back to Acer.

EMACHINES370I have a 370 emachine. Like the person above I changed the display, removing the CRT and attaching a LCD. The screen display was dreadful so I bought a zotac graphics card and now its beautiful. I got it from my niece. She was going to bin it because the PSU died. I had a spare and fitted it in plus installed a 80 gb hard drive. However I tried to get my printer to run on it but unfortunately the usb connectors are not working. Maybe they need software update. ADVENTT9404I`ve owned one of these machines since August 2005. To begin with I did have all the problems as listed - hard drive failure, motherboard etc. PC World engineers replaced several items of hardware, but the problem kept recurring. In the end I gave up on PC World`s help and decided to try sorting it out myself. Replaced the D-Drive with a new 250gb drive, then formatted C-drive and installed a new version of XP (shop-bought) to replace the factory fitted XP it came with. It would appear these problems are caused by the way XP was installed, as since these changes were carried out in 2006, the PC has been spot-on. I still own and use this PC regularly now, no further problems have occured. Its a little sluggish on startup, but once running its a very good machine. Its fast even by todays standards, internet browsing is a doddle, and multi-tasking doesnt slow it down either. I would not recommend this item off-the-shelf as there will be problems, but with a few changes this PC may just shrug off these reviews! Mine certainly has. 4 out of 5Ju16/08/2008 12:31:49

EMACHINES2210 17in TFTAn excellent desktop machine by most accounts considering how long its been out. I`ve had mine for c. 18 months and have had to add more RAM (128 was a bit Scroogish) and a wi-fi adapter, but the machine itself has never given me a day of grief and it`s still on the fast side. would like to of give the pc a 5/5 rating but due to them disabling the nview feature will only give it a 4/5. have heard different reasons for this like conflicts with gigapocket(which is a great bit of kit,its a tv card that you can record onto your hard drive and then burn to dvd) conclusion if you are not bothered about running an extended desktop then this is a top spec pc.....

EMACHINES820 Base UnitIt`s NOT the motherboard but the PSU that is the weak link. As soon as you start to get errors check the voltages and you will probably find 12V on the 5V rail! If you `scope the 5V rail you will probably see a huge level of hum. Eventually the USB and keyboard will pack up as these draw the most current from the 5V rail. FUJITSUSCALEO 3601 XPI bought one & the software crashed so PC World gave me a new one, the second one had its DVD writer break on me & PC World replaced that. Now however it works fine, it`s very speedy for all the things I need it to do and runs Call of Duty 2 no bother.

Well specced pc that is good value, just dont buy from PC World!!!

Speakers are average but needed upgrading, keyboard ok and mouse is cheap (get a microsoft mouse).

COMPAQ1080 17in TFTExcellent spec on paper, however let down by a middle-of-the-road graphics card that struggles on comlex games at top resolution. Also, very noisy HDD when accessing data. Good, but could do better - Urgent need for a mark 2 with a top graphics card to match the rest of the machine - Come on Compaq - Sort it out !! 3 out of 5Malc Morris06/07/2004 10:24:46

EMACHINES190 17in CRTThis is a good computer, but you cannot fit an AGP graphics card as the graphics are integrated. 3 out of 5Andrew06/05/2004 12:37:36

Packard BellIMEDIA 5057 Base UnitNot a bad cheap desktop pc. The downside is that you can only upgrade the memory to a maximum 512mb. (2x256mb), and theres only room for one hard drive (which is located screwed vertically to front of the case. 2 out of 5Mike Walters10/07/2008 18:59:56

EMACHINES2210 17in TFTWorked for a short while and performed well but the lack of RAM is shocking and it eventually failed after about a year and a half because the power source destroyed the mother board so be careful of that anyone whose got it 2 out of 5annoymous30/12/2007 10:02:10

EMACHINES420 Base unitI`ve owned this now for a few years, it is not worth it! its rubbish! Firstly it doesnt have a slot to upgrade the graphics card, and all components are linked therefor you cannot but another motherboard that can take a graphics card as you`d need a new processor etc! I`ve replaced motherboard, hard drive, power supply. The computer is great for just surfing the web. Even opening programs such as paint it will struggle! and my rams upgraded to MAX!

HPPavilion g3001 Intel Pentium-D Dual Core 925Doesn`t have a PCIe x16 slot, only a PCIe x1 mini slot DON`T BUY THIS! It`s not worth it at all, it has the worst motherboard I have ever seen plus the usb ports play up and the intergrated graphics blows on all levels. IT`S SO SLOW TOO LOL, I put mine in the bin last week. Was really that useless. 1 out of 5Kyle18/07/2008 19:40:13
