Its a terrible tv that should not be bought. I did not take out an insurance policy past the 12mth guarantee period for approx £30 on a TV that was only £160. I wished I had now.

I bought two of these tape-mangling models and both crashed within weeks of each other, conveniently outside the warranty period. Each time I called Philips Customer Care they said hard luck, nothing to do with us. Last week I called again and an adviser admitted these machines had been a disaster and withdrawn. And yes `in the circumstances` they would be replaced. Like hell they will, said Customer Care management, it`s his bad luck.
Be warned. Rating SUB ZERO.
