OREGON SCIENTIFIC TP380 Two Way Radio - review, compare prices, buy online

I have these radios since years ago.They are good, strong, some wrong things though.First of all the annoying `Call Tone` which cannot be turned off, Oregon could put this features as menu (we usually use the double click on ptt as `roger`).You can change channels just going into the menu.It could be better to have a different way to change channel and/or volume.3 out of 5.

One problem..... how can you switch off the CALL TONE? Its very annoying every time you hit the PTT twice

When I plug In the ear piece it enables VOX automatically even if I
previously had turned it OFF. How Can I Plug in era Piece but keep VOX
turned off ?

I bought this product with a good friend I found them rely easy to use I
think the range is ok but it could b better I have not had any prob with
the sound.

Cor Gerritsen, I bought a set myself and they work good. Yes the volume
differs from one set to the other, I noticed that. On the whole, they are
worth using, compact and quite strong. Range is weak but good to play
around from one car tothe other. They are useful when two parties split in
a town or large area and need tobe in-touch.

Recently purchased these for our sons birthday, they did work fine but he
managed to lose one of the handsets at a friends house! We have tried
getting a replacement from Oregon who have told us that we will have to
buy the whole set again as they don`t sell replacements seperately. So
Buyers beware if its lost or damaged you will have to replace the whole
system!! Not good

I think these are good radios but like them all, you need to take the
claims of 3km with a pinch of salt. I got probably about 1-1.3miles across
a valley in the lakes, but the best situation for PMR446 is when you can
just see them but when you shout they can`t hear you. In fact line of
sight you can get pretty good range, I`ve made contact from the top of a
mountain to the car park before. But in my built up estate, I can only get
around 0.4-0.6miles. You shouldn`t expect to be able to get 3km in a built
up area!
They would be much better if it had a rotary volume dial, I really don`t
understand why they don`t return to these!
As for headsets, you can use a nokia 3310 handsfree kit to listen. I use
this when I`m in the lakes or just scanning, but it seems to enable vox.
Also, the connection is a little tempermental. You need to file the
plastic of the handsfree plug a bit to get a better
fit.

i used this product. and i returned it back to the shop because of its bad
performance. its range is just 1 km. not more than that. 2 out of
5

I have 3 of these radios (lost one - fell off me and has never been found)
They work really well between cars over near on a mile. The hassle I have
now is getting a headset for them..... does not seem to be avalable.....as
far as I can tell. For a walk a round and to keep in contact - well
good.

I am using this product for some time and it works perfectly
It has a wide range and the soundquality is good.
However with the volumesetting the same on both tranceivers
the loudness differs.
Does anyone have the same experiance and is there a solution for
this (not realy a) problem?
