HotpointFZ150PPurchased an earlier version of this freezer (FZA50P) and companion fridge (RLA50) in August 2003 as replacement for a Hotpoint Fridge/Freezer and installed it in an outbuilding/garage. I had no problems until Christmas 2008, when a component on the PCB burnt out. Replaced the PCB and the same component burnt out again this week last (last week of Mar 2009). I will now be replacing it with the current model, partially because there are very few upright freezers that can be installed in an outbuilding. 5 out of 5RB31/03/2009 15:31:15

BEKOTZDA524FWhen I bought this freezer, I thought I was buying a 7cu ft model. Actual usable volume is about 4.5, the 7 cu ft figure refers to the entire volume including insulation, motor, doors etc. 3 out of 5Anon13/11/2007 16:55:00

FrigidaireFVE3199BI purchased two of these freezeers. One lasted five weeks before it needed new thermostat control and regassing. Not impressed at all. My other freezers have never been a problem. Would not buy from Frigidaire again. 1 out of 5dissatisfied customer10/07/2008 18:59:12

FrigidaireFVE3199BWe purchased this freezer August 05. It stopped working March 08! Just over 2 1/2 years. Not a great advert for Frigidaire. We know products are built for a throw away industry but this is just not good enough. I loved the freezer until this happened. The compressor has failed. Our old chest freezer lasted 27 years. The only reason we replaced it was the seal had worn out and we were wasting electricity. 1 out of 5Anon12/03/2008 11:58:31

HOTPOINTFZA34PI`ll never buy anything made by Hotpoint. The recent purchase of a Hotpoint FZA34P has broken down 5 times in less than 9 months. As the product is under warranty the engineer has come out and replaced quite a few parts. The company Hotpoint will not admit that there is a fault with this model. The actual freezer unit at the back becomes clogged up with ice (this should not happen),thus preventing the appliance perform. It is meant to work like a frost free freezer , however it seems to thaw rathar than freeze after a couple of months. I have spoken to Hotpoint (Mr Gavin Linnell an exchange authoriser) about replacement, but he has refused. I explained that once the warranty runs out which is in May 08, I will be left with a faulty product. It will cost me more in the long run for calling out an engineer to repair it for parts and labour. I shall be also reporting this to trading standards, so watch out Gavin!!! 1 out of 5Mrs R B Naik,27/02/2008 09:17:17

FrigidaireFVE101Good freezer, quiet and easy to defrost with the defrost nozzle at the bottom. Good storage space and drawers don't have wire gaps 5 out of 5Aaron02/04/2004 09:17:46

FrigidaireFVE101This freezer is very good for the price. Good storage and sturdy drawers. Another good point is the drawers are all a complete unit so no grid holes at the bottom so smaller food items can't fall through (especially when the frozen peas split in the bag). It's also very quiet and easy to defrost with the little defrost nozzle at the bottom. Had no problems at all with this product.5 out of 5Max12/02/2004 09:48:26

MIELEF7232S3 years and no problems, more than happy with it. even distribution throughout so you can fill it with unfrozen food and freeze the whole lot pretty rapidly. freeze alarm sounds if temperature drops because your kids have left the door open!5 out of 5chris16/10/2002 09:27:45

LecU1404GThe finish is as expected for a product of this price( a bit grainy) and expected the freezer to be a bit bigger inside than it actual is, but still a good buy for the money. Could do with a themometer to show current tempature as settings are only marked as minimum or maximum.Four draws are very handy although bottom draw is only a half draw.Appliance runs exceptionly quitely. 4 out of 5Anon25/06/2007 15:36:38

HOTPOINTRZ88PGood machine and runs quietly. However, watchout for the top drawer front which readily falls off and doesn`t bounce! I`m looking for the second replacement!! 4 out of 5Romsey19/10/2005 10:57:15

HOTPOINTFZA81PI have had this freezer for a couple of years, unfortunately the drawers crack and chip easily so consequently the drawers do not fit well on the runners, I am looking to replace these drawers possibly with wire baskets, does any one know where I can get some wire baskets to fit this freezer? 1 out of 5RitaM18/07/2008 19:39:38

HOTPOINTFZA54PI own this product but just after one year the freezer is not working, have switched the fast freeze on and to no. 5 the coldest point but the freezer is not working properly as the food are not freezing as it should be. I owned a similar one previously, this is the second one I bought and it is not performing as it only lasts one year. I have to buy this freezer as I have a similar fridge to match it, otherwise I would not have purchased a second one. As for the matching fridge, the second lowest compartment freezes all the time even if I turned it to normal temperature. I hope Hotpoint can improve on this particular size fridge and freezer as I am rather dissatisfied with this product. 1 out of 5S14/06/2008 08:12:55

HOTPOINTFZA50This Freezer is `billed` as `frost free`. Don`t believe it. We`ve had one for just over three years, the last month or so the red light keeps coming on and food like loaves of bread are not frozen in the middle. We`re now, for the first time since August 2004 having to defrost our `frost free freezer`. 1 out of 5Martin @ Dover UK04/02/2008 09:59:58

HOTPOINTFZA54PI have owned tnis freezer model for 30 months. The freezer stopped working after 3months causing the loss of the contents. Under the guarantee the Service Engineer replaced the fan saying it was blocked by ice build-up! (I thought that I had bought a frost free freezer) So I contacted the Indeset(hotpiont) service office and was told that I needed to switch the freezer off every 3 months to completely defrost it and then when filling the freezer to buy frozen well wrapped food which I must dry with a towel before putting into the freezer. Today the freezer has failed again after being switched on, following one week having been completely defrosted and then refilled. Now I will need to telephone there Service dept and see what is the now failure cause. 1 out of 5Tom P04/02/2008 09:59:56

INDESITUFAAN300This is a rubbish freezer. Within 13 months the unit failes & I got it regassed but to no use so I had to buy a new one. THis is not good & does not represent sale of goods act. Unfortuanalty Indesit & the company I purchased from didn`t want to know. I wouldn`t recommend this to anyone. 1 out of 5Anon10/10/2007 12:07:19

HOTPOINTFZA54PI have owned this product since June 2006. The runners on which the drawers run are beginning to break. Two of the drawer stops have broken leaving holes in the side of the cabinet. The interior cabinet sides are made of 1mm thick plastic and the drawer stops are just bubbles of this, so that after 15 months most of them or distorted and two of them have broken leaving holes in the plastic. I bought this freezer to replace one which I had owned for 15 years without problem. I just wanted a frost free freezer 1 out of 5Disgruntled02/10/2007 12:06:15

HOOVERHNU271AFFALUdo NOT buy one of these! Mine is only 1 year old & the fan seizes up with ice every 2 months spoiling my food several times. I have to manually defrost it to get it working again. I think these `frost free` freezers have not been properly developed yet & are nowhere near as reliable as a conventional freezer. My old LEC was 22 yaers old & still going fine when I stupidly dumped it. It only needed a defrost every 3 years or so!All that was wrong was the drawers were broken. 1 out of 5simon15/08/2007 11:04:17

PROLINEFF959Yes I too have a proline, same problem as previous owner, the insulation at rear of freezer is faulty and causes the control box to freeze, latest Comet engineer detected this, we have had engineers out before who just say it needs defrosting, Ha Ha frost free freezer!!!!! MIELEF1354SAfter many years of trouble free Miele ownership I am afraid this freezer has broken down twice in 10 months, coupled with MISSED appointments by the engineer after agreeing to stay in for him..... NOT GOOD. Both times are blamed on a faulty thermostat!! 1 out of 5John Sumner18/05/2007 18:12:36

HOOVERHNU271AFFIn the 6 months I`ve had this machine engineers have been out to it 3 times. This was because, far from being frost free, it was icing up continually. I was offered a replacement but then told this model `hadn`t been in stock for some time`. Then I requested a refund at the beginning of December 2006, was told I would have one and as of this date, 27/12/06, I`m still waiting. All I can advise is - steer clear of this one!! 1 out of 5Jane02/01/2007 09:32:07
