DysonDC25 AnimalOkay, so I admit I am one of `those` people that research everything for way to long prior to making a purchase and then again to get the best price. This particular model I had heard rave reviews about, and after reading reviews here, I decided this was my best bet. I bought it earlier today, used it for the whole house and couldn`t wait to comment. So far I love it! I have back/neck problems, and this vacuum is so light weight and easy to use. The `sucking` power was also fabulous! As other reviewers posted, it does have a shorter cord, I can`t seem to be able to store the pet attachment on the machine, and the extension is a little hard to pull - but with my ranch home, none of these were an issue for me. (Plus I`d rather the extension be a little hard and go back into place, versus fighting to put the vacuum back together, so thats a plus for me.) It was very easy to put together, and easy to use without a lot of direction reading (though again I admit I read the entire handbook out of my excitement for the vacuum.) Friends that have other dyson models are jealous of my ball - and I can carry this light vacuum anywhere. I highly recommend, though I don`t have any idea how long it might last - it seems that it is built very sturdy. Oh, and if you don`t need the extra pet attachment, save the money and get the regular version of the DC25 - I`m not sure how many times with pets I`ll even use this attachment, but spent about $50 more to have it - that is the only difference I`ve found between the two models. My final thing to note is we have about 1/2 carpet and have tile floors in our home - this vacuum works great on both. It seems to get all little particles, as well as the clumps of grass my husband had tracked across the kitchen floor. 5 out of 5Lisa07/07/2009 08:50:58

DysonDC25 AnimalQuite simply a great design that works. You can see the attention to detail often missed by other manufactuers. I used it 24hrs after using my old hoover (not dyson) and nearly filled 2 containers of dust, seems to pick up so much more. Picks up stuff going over it first time and the roller ball is a great idea, really easy to use. I dont have a pet but the turbo brush is great on beds/sofa etc Im a dyson convert :-) Expensive yea but with 5 yr warrenty I think its worth it at this discounted price." 5 out of 5Amazon Reviewer11/01/2009 01:01:01

DYSONDC20 ANIMALI purchased this Dyson on the recommendation of a friend who showed me her own DC20 Animal.I had just bought a cheap version of a bagless which worked fine but was a pain to put all the pieces together when you wanted to use it and the box it lived in took up valuable space. I was most impressed with the Dyson, how it stuck to the floor when you switch it on, how it sweeps right to the edge of the tool you are using, and how everything clicks into position very positively when you go to use it. For me, having a compact model which is quick and easy to get out and which wraps itself so tidily away that I can hide it behind the sofa is everything and most importantly, I want to use it. This is an important consideration, as the other one was such a fiddle to put together and then take apart when you finished that my desire to vacuum the floor quickly evaporated. As I have two cats and a horse there is quite a lot of mud and hair around and the Dyson deals with it very easily and I am always disgusted about what appears in the jug, which is very easy to empty. Its a pity the instructions are not easier. A few well chosen words would be better than icons. My friend showed me where the filter was. Id never have worked it out from the handbook! All things considered, I think it is a very good purchase.5 out of 5Amazon Reviewer09/01/2009 01:01:01

GTECHSW02I must admit I was really disappointed to receive one of these as a Christmas present from my mother in law (wondered what she might be insinuating!!!) but how great it is! We charged it up and its been on standby pretty much all of the time - its great on all types of floors and unlike other hoovers/cleaners doesnt have a huge air blow so picks up all those irritating bits of fluff off wooden floors that sometimes get spread by our powerful dyson. Its very quick and lightweight is really very handy! - An excellent product - Christmas present or not! 5 out of 5Amazon Reviewer29/12/2008 01:01:01

DYSONDC16 ROOT 6The only remotely justifiable criticism of the DC16 is its short battery life. It is true that it only lasts about 3 minutes on the first charge, but after it has run down and recharged a few times, this goes up to about 6 or 7 minutes. This may not sound much, but it does compare well with other handheld cleaners. This is because it works so much better. Having owned several other rechargable vacuums in the past, I have found that the Dysons suction power is so much greater that it simply doesnt need as long a charge to do a better job. As well as doing its job more quicky than other cleaners, it picks things up that none of the others I have used can manage at all. Other vacuums may manage 10 minutes or more on a charge, but they still wont have done as a good a job in that time. And the Dyson takes at most half as long to fully recharge than others. This machine outclasses all competition, but if you are expecting a vacuum that will work like a mains operated one, then buy a mains operated one!5 out of 5Amazon Reviewer16/12/2008 01:01:01

DysonDC24 All FloorsDyson DC24 Allfloors - The Dyson Ball Upright Vacuum Cleaner - Iron Satin Yellow Splendid machine, such a clever design, great manoeuvrability and suction (that must be comparable to a cylinder machine despite its compact size). Minor downside is that small cylinder obviously requires more frequent emptying but this not such as to be a problem in cleaning 5 bedrooms upstairs. The suction wand is also lighter and easier to use than on the larger upright Dyson that we also have. Improvements? Now if the upright section could go even flatter as to slide further under a bed...... All in all, I doubt if this machine can be bettered anywhere.5 out of 5Amazon Reviewer26/11/2008 01:01:01

DYSONDC25 All FloorsJust received the new Dyson CD25 Ball, the Super Saver Delivery service is quick. I placed the order on Friday afternoon & by Saturday 10am (less than 24 hours), I had used the Dyson to great success. Easy to follow instruction for the assembly of the main handle to the body of the unit. Plain English manual to fully learn how to use the Ball to best effect. Its incredible considering two days ago I had used my old vac to clean the hallway, this little baby goes further than expected. Talk about suction power & ease of use. The Ball design is ideal for those who need to navigate around their floors (all in the wrist action!). One point worth mentioning, it seemes to be more stable when using the telescopic wand to reach up the stairs (my old vac would fall over, Ive got the bruises to show for it). So far Im impressed & would reccommend the new Dyson Ball to those who are in need of an all floor, easy to operate vacuum. 5 out of 5Amazon Reviewer15/11/2008 01:01:01

DYSONDC25 All FloorsJust to add my vote that having received and used for a week, this is a brilliant vacuum. Worth all 5 of the stars. I know that some of the earlier dysons had mixed reviews, but this is a celebration of design and functionality, with the 5 year guarantee to back it up. Worth the money.5 out of 5Amazon Reviewer06/11/2008 01:01:01

DysonDC19 ORIGINFantastic vacuum if you have mainly non-carpeted floors! The flat attachment for floors that it comes with does not do a very good job on carpeted areas, however it *will* still pick up material, it may just require a few passes and a bit of extra effort. The rooms in my flat are all wood flooring and are a breeze to clean, with the attachment getting to areas that other similar vacuums would never reach. I have a carpeted hallway and fuzz/threads/hair are a bit more difficult to pick up off of that, but with a couple passes it usually succeeds. One room also has a large area rug on it which is a bit easier to vacuum than the carpeting. Ive owned a floor model Dyson in the past and this cylinder vacuum definitely lives up to my expectations based on that experience and for a change I actually dont mind vacuuming!5 out of 5Amazon Reviewer05/11/2008 01:01:01

DysonDC25 AnimalAmazon service amazing! I bought this product two days ago and it was delivered this afternoon. I put it together myself as it was so easy. I had avoided Dysons before as they are so expensive even though I had heard good reports about them. I really wish I had bought one earlier now! This machine is just superb. Not as noisy as my month old Vax which I really hated as it blows air at my face. Really easy to manouver. I love it!5 out of 5Amazon Reviewer01/10/2008 01:01:01

DysonDC14 Blitz ItThis is my second Dyson and definately the best. I made the mistake of getting a Hoover Bagless Vacum but after about 5 months I got fed up cleaning the filter so I got a Dyson DC14 Blitz It. It is brilliant! 5 out of 5Anon23/05/2008 13:16:22

DysonDC14 Blitz ItAbsolutely first class in every way. The standard of engineering cannot be faulted and the suction power is tremendous. If there is a criticism then it would be that I find the wand and hose a little awkward to use; it`s all rather heavy and too much of it for me. The long power cord is very useful as is the ability to switch the beater brush on and off. Emptying the dust out couldn`t be easier or quicker, no trying to get bags into slots or pushed over tubes. If vaccuuming is ever fun then this is the cleaner for it. 5 out of 5rogerrobot12/03/2008 14:58:36

SeboX1.1GO-FOR-IT. What most reviews tend to overlook are the other useful benefits of the Sebo upright cleaners (X1-X5 etc). You can dismantle the cleaner to certain unit levels. The handle with power cable comes off, the vacuum main body comes off and this leaves the motor footplate. For hose blockages the extension hose handle unclips from the hose. The hose unclips from the main body. Plus the footplate bottom has a sprung loaded cover for any debris blockages. Also the brush beater can be easily removed/replaced from the footplate if it became tangled with debris. For storage, the Sebo can be either laid flat or suitably stored in a hung position with the footplate perpendicular to the body. Other benefits include an automatic height adjuster when placed on a carpet. The motor head rises so that the brush is lifted up from the carpet pile. My X1 was bought in 1993 and only now has given up the Ghost. The motor went open circuit and its replacement would be about 75% of a new model. Overall the Sebo is well worth the money, nothing lasts forever and yes, all electrical/mechanical devices do breakdown, but the Sebo has lasted 14 years of daily use.Cant be bad! In that time you could either buy two or three hoovers or buy just one, its your choice. 5 out of 5Lee10/10/2007 12:10:00

SeboX1.1After going through several uprights, bagged and bagless I`ve now come to the conclusion that this is the best upright model on the market (other than Sebo`s X4 flagship model which has a higher 1300 watt motor) The Sebo X1.1 may look boring against rivals but it makes cleaning carpets a quick and pleasant experience. Motor noise is average although the electronic height adjustment means no more bending down and the floor head adjusts accordingly which tells the owner by a series of lights located on the front floor head. Two additional LED lights also light up whenever there is a blockage or when the brush bar has an obstruction. The paper bag however is one of the best designs Ive seen in a long time. It has a capacity of 5.5 litres but seems to last a lot longer than normal standard paper bags, which with Sebo means that it fills right to the top and can be sealed completely with plastic seals once the bag is finished.

The best advantage of the Sebo for me is the fact that it is extremely light to use particularly in use when doing normal cleaning. The gliding head makes light work of all carpet surfaces whilst no drive belt to replace means that it keeps costs in general down. The Sebo X1.1 is also fitted with a HEPA class filter which is great for pet owners although you can also buy an extra filter which does more to seal in odours. The X1.1 also has a 10 metre cord and at last, once and for all, an upright which will slide under low furniture without its motor getting in the way - something which Dyson badly need to improve here.

I`ve had my Sebo x1.1 for the last 4 years and it`s still going strong and has never let me down. Yes it`s expensive but it`s all fuss and worry free.

LGCyking Bagless Cylinder CleanerI wonder if they have changed the spec since I bought mine in 2004. It`s still going strong 5 years later and the filter has never been washed in that time I just brush it out when the suction starts to fade and that works fine. I hope it keeps going for a few more years with minimal care as it looks like it might be difficult to replace. 5 out of 5cmouse09/11/2009 18:18:28

electroluxCyclone Power Z7291These people must have had bad examples of this vac! Lets face it you get dodgy examples of most things in life! I have found it to be a great vacuum for daily use with plenty of suction for removing pet hairs. True it is lightweight but this is an advantage on the stairs because you can hold it in one hand and use the hose with the other. Because of the bin size you do need to empty it regularly but if you do this it will minimize suction loss and keep the filters in good condition. Overall at a couple of pence under fifty quid I think it is fantastic value, I would highly recommend this to anyone with pets. 5 out of 5James, Nottingham18/03/2009 09:21:30

MIELES571I love this vacuum cleaner! I had always used uprights but when I bought this I looked at Which magazine and decided to try a cylinder for a change. At first I found it strange but it is easy to use, has fantastic suction and can move from carpet to hard floors and does an equally good job on both. It is light and whilst on stairs it is `different` to an upright in that you have to lift the cylinder onto the steps, I have got used to it. The suction can be adjusted for rugs and upholstery etc. Much better than any upright(Hoover, Panasonic, Electrolux) I have ever owned, and much lighter and easier than a Dyson that I borrowed for a while. 5 out of 5Pauline02/05/2008 19:04:12

MIELECAT AND DOG-TTBrilliant Brilliant Brilliant. I have a lot of cats as I was involved in rescue. This cleaner is the bees knees for picking up cat hair. Its, lightweight, relatively quiet and easy to store away. The tools are spot on and the suction is uber powerful. I bought this product as a result of the previous reviews and so glad I did. I have had Dysons before and they both fell to pieces after a short while. HOOVERPS7205001I bought the Hoover PS7205001 today and have cleaned the whole house with it. I previously owned a Dyson and was in two minds whether to buy another one as I found the attachments flimsy and easy to damage. In my opinion the hoover is brilliant for the money £89.95. The suction power is great and comparable to my dyson - removes lots of dirt and hair. I have found that it removes pet hair very well. It comes with a stair cleaner tool which is great - a rotating brush with a small suction pipe at the side for removing dust from the edges of your carpet. I also used this tool on my settee. Plus points - HEPA filtration, 2000w motor and 220airwatt suction, easy to empty and clean. Things to consider - need to empty it more frequently than a dyson, but the most basic Dyson is £145-149. I am happy with my purchase so far, although I cannot comment on long term reliability. 5 out of 5Daisy12/03/2008 11:57:48

TescoVC206Bought 2nd hand from ebay, it is 4months old. I believe they are £15 or so in tesco, but suprisingly it is actually very good. It is rather small and light which means its no bother at all to pick it up and hoover up the stairs. Its pretty basic but works exactly as you`d like it, no fuss, good suction, and comes with spare bags, instructions and filters so you shouldn`t need to buy any more for quite a while. We had a dyson upright before(2 of them and another make but they looked the same) and i don`t rate them very well. Suction is good when they work but the revolving brush soon gets tangled, plastic clips break, and it basically falls apart. The tesco value hoover however is simplicity itself, but performs great. The only niggle so far is the cable is only 5metres long so you`ll be unpluging it a couple of times to do the house. It has a powerful retractable action to pull the plug cable back in, and an on off button. We`ve bought this hoover as a stop gap till we get another, but i`m in no rush now ive found it to be really adequate. For the price its brilliant, and its size means it will go in a small cupboard etc when not in use. And to top it off, it cost me £1!!! On ebay, and the seller was the next road to ours! 5 out of 5Phil12/08/2007 18:56:07

HOOVERThe OneWe recently purchased the Hoover pet performer, the one, redesigned and by my view the best vacuum on the market. Yes you do have to wash the filters - even on Dysons, thats the draw back from not having a bag. I have a Hoover Junior, still working after 40 years. 5 out of 5buster14/07/2007 08:41:08

BoschBSG61822I have had this vac for quite a while now and think it is wonderful. I have mostly wood flooring but I use it on my stair carpet and it is light enough to carry so it easily reaches the top. I had another hoover this one came out of my husbands van which I tried and loved so swapped. I didn`t realise it was so cheap to buy well worth the money. 5 out of 5nicola28/06/2007 09:45:34

VAXV006UHave had difficulty finding a good hoover that brings the pile back up on the carpet, ours is a short pile carpet but that doesn`t mean it should look flat after a few month`s, anyway took the bull by the horns so to speak and bought a vax V-006U from Comet, what a brilliant hoover the suction is great and my carpet looks new again after just one go, the power tool is great on the stairs as well as they were starting to flatten also. I would recommend this hoover to anyone. Thanks Vax 5 out of 5Amanda03/06/2007 07:33:51

VAXTurboforceAfter having three Dysons all of them failing due to the motor, we bought a Vax Turboforce,it picks up pet hair as good as any Dyson ,and costs a lot less, dont believe only Dysons pick up pet hairs, this is just as good and with 1700 watts of suction is more powerfull, and has better accesorries 5 out of 5Anon03/06/2007 07:33:34

LGCyking Bagless Cylinder CleanerFantastic vacuum cleaner. We have had ours for about 3 or 4 years and I vacuum at least once a day and it has always been great. Highly recommend it. It is small and light and so easy to use with an excellent length extendable handle for the taller (or shorter) amongst us. 5 out of 5Francesca29/05/2007 08:10:47

VaxV048I totally disagree with Mrs Angry, this is one of the best vacuum i have ever owned,it has 295 air watts suction which is very powerful, this vacuum is only made for small areas, not whole houses due to its limited capacity,it is not very noisy and it does the job brilliantly,it only smells when it needs emptying. It comes with a good range of tools such as a dusting brush and a crevice tool and it is very easy to empty, and when you empty it you MUST clean the filters which IS a bit messy.I have had this vacuum for 6 months and have had no problems. Sometimes it is just luck, which makes this vacuum seem rubbish,it is like this with many products 5 out of 5Mr Calm02/04/2007 14:25:39

LGCyking Bagless Cylinder CleanerExcellent cleaner!I have a dog and I need to do carpet cleaning quite often. The capacity of the filter and the container is not a problem. You have to use it more often because it has very good suction power and takes out every single bit of the dust from the carpet and then you will have no problem with the capacity. I use the a special carpet cleaner brush and it works perfectly. USER FRIENDLY AND VERY EASY TO OPERATE I had a vacuum cleaner with a paper bag earlier. It was a nightmare. I had dust everywhere and after every cleaning a dust `smell` was in the air for a long period of time. 5 out of 5Ziggy07/03/2007 09:08:17

DYSONDC15 All FloorsYes I own the dyson vacuum thats for all floors,It is actually what it says it is the last vacuum you`ll own or the last you will want to own. It is a wonderfull product no other vacuum I`ve ever owned or used compares to the dyson. Just try it and you`ll agree. 5 out of 5Julia22/12/2006 11:05:50

LGVUP245NBMy oh-so-super-dooper £200.00 `Say goodbye to the bag` machine had broken down, again, and was going to cost another £75.00 to fix. `Stuff that` I said to myself and decided to buy the cheapest thing I could find. This LG was in the Argos catalogue for about £32.00. I bought one and threw the other thing out. Three years later, the LG still works like new and does just a good a job as the thing it replaced. And it was cheap.

Buy it!!

DYSONDC11SYThis is my first first Dyson and I couldn`t believe the diffence. I had arranged a house party and so had planned to have a cleaner come the day after.

She did a great job but advised that the carpets could be alot cleaner id I had a Dyson. So I say the DC11SY in a sale a thought `what the hell`.

The amount of sand-like particles that the machine picked up was amazing.

This machine great and fun to use

NUMATICHenry HoundI bought mine very recently. Its great and the tube is now made of metal instead of plastic which is good. The carpets look cleaner than they did with my Dyson but the waste bag dosent fill up so quickly:conclusion-Henry picks up the dirt and hairs-Dyson gobbles the carpet! Also dust bag has very large capacity. Bit`1980`s` in style, well so my son says!but I can tell itas built to last.

HOOVERDM4493Have recently bought this, and my immediate impression is very positive. The suction is powerful, it picks up pet hair and I had no problem with stairs either. The dust cylinder did fill quicky because it was picked up a lot!Having had two recent disasters with (cheap range)Dyson and a Morphy Richards, I despaired of finding a decent low price cleaner. So far,so good. 5 out of 5Jayne10/04/2006 15:35:02

MIELECAT AND DOG-TTWe were going to buy an upright, but were convinced that this would be a good one. Easy to use; lightweight; long extension so you don`t get backache and you only have the weight of the head to push around not the whole cleaner. Very good on stairs, and at the top of a step ladder to clean our very high ceiling! Very neat to put away in a small cupboard. Highly recommended. 5 out of 5Rachel30/12/2005 15:42:27

DELONGHIAqualandThe water doesn`t smell bad if you empty the unit after each use - this isn`t a normal vacuum cleaner that you can leave in the cupboard with dust in it.

Empty the unit each time, and this product is a revelation. You will be pleasantly suprised by the amount of dust you can pickup - especially when you remember that a normal vacuum would have pumped a lot of this back into your room.

PANASONICMCE480I have a small cleaning business and have purchased these vacuums for 25 years for cleaning Show Homes. They are light weight and easy changing bags etc. Parts are freely available i.e new filters etc. Tried Dyson but very heavy for my Ladies to carry.Over the years the cost has actually gone down, I see from this site now down to £50.00 thats got to be a first!I also use HENRY vacuums which are equally as good for flat flooring. 5 out of 5Binga12/06/2005 08:12:02

HOOVERT5702 REDMy hoover Telios T5702 is the best vacuum cleaner i have ever had. It looks a big cleaner but it is very lightweight and is only about 5-6kg. The suction is very good it grabs to the floor as soon as you press the button. Even thow it is a bagged vacuum not bagless it seems to have more suction than dyson cleaners i have owned in the past years, It is a dyson equivalent by far and i no for a fact that it has more suction than a Dyson dc05. The price of the cleaner is very fair i got mine in the sales for £50.00 The prices are from £50.00 to £70.00. The bag is a very big size for a cylinder vac and the the bag status bar is very very accurate. The Best cleaner in the world. 5 out of 5Anon03/01/2005 10:59:10

VAXVS-18Light but solid. Hugely effective, even on pet hair - far better performance on carpet than any other cleaner we"ve owned, and good on laminate and vinyl flooring as well. Very easy to empty, large dust capacity, no suction loss as bin fills up. Could do with a stretchier extension hose, but that"s the only even slightly negative point. Buy this - it"s ludicrously good value compared to the main cyclone brand, and outperforms the one we had! 5 out of 5Anon05/11/2004 10:32:41
