...I rang Indesit yesterday and yes my machine is registered. The lady on the phone spoke over me the whole time and I couldn`t get a word in, she asked what temperature I wash on and I said 30 degrees as they are never soiled, to my amazement she actually sniggered/scoffed and said `thats why then!` she explained that as the weathers so cold the water coming in to the machine is cold and 30 degrees isn`t enough to wash the clothes!!?? hang on a minute, surely if the temps set at 30 degrees, thats how hot the water should get to regardless of how cold it is outside??!! i always use 30 degrees, its more economical and people encourage it!!! then she accused me of `overdosing` the washing powder! i hardly use any! she advised me to do an empty wash at 90 degrees and see if I can feel that the machine is warm afterwards. Well i just did it at 70 degrees and its still freezing. just done another wash and clothes full of soap so doing another rinse! I guess i`ll be calling them back tomorrow. The heater has definitely gone! but i`m sure they think its my fault and not an actual fault on the machine.

Bought this machine in May 08, its now Jan 09 and I`m having problems with my clothes being ruined. I too used the dryer on the lowest time setting yet the clothes were excessively hot when I pulled them from the machine and I think I could smell burning on the clothes! one pair of jeans shrunk so small I couldn`t get them on (my fault I suppose for putting jeans with elastane in them in the dryer!) but my cotton clothes are coming out rough to touch and smelly. I live in a 2nd floor flat so have no washing line. Now I`ve noticed my clothes coming out of the wash ICEY cold, like I took them from the freezer! almost too cold to pick up!! They are normally luke warmish but never icey cold. All my clothes have white marks on them where the washing powder isn`t dissolving, so I`ve come to my own conclusion that the heater has packed up and no hot water is being used in the wash (its cold fill only) and there are still marks on my clothes after a wash. Has anyone else experienced this? also, I`m within my warranty period and when I bought the washer, I sent off a form to register it but never received anything in reply, is this normal? I`m worried that they`ll only cover the repair under warranty if I registered the appliance. I have full proof of purchase from Currys. Blimey, I wish I looked on here before buying but I had minimal funds and it was the cheapest washer dryer in the shop, so I just went straight for it. I was so sure if I bought brand new I`d get a couple of years use out of it before needing a repair. I only do two loads a week at the weekend!

This product is a waste of space, my little baby boy was born 3 months ago, the first time we needed to wash all his vests and babygrows the dryer shrunk them all, all his first clothes he was in, no money can replace that, we then decided not to use the dryer, as it was teh dryer that shrunk them, for the past 3 months we have been putting them on the line (which in winter isn`t the best thing to be doing) anyway, we decided to try the dryer again, and it shrunk all his clothes, including a brand new liverpool kit bought for him by his grandad. The machine cost us #330, add on top the #100+ worth of clothes shrunk, plus the sentimental value of my babys first clothes, i`d pay a shed full of pigs that havent been cleaned in 3 years roling around in there own s**t #330 to clean my clothes before i buy any product made by indesit again! P.S ive gotta rate this product between 1-5, thats ot right because this machine doesnt deserve a 1.

I am trying to identify my washer dryer, which came new with the flat, as I have had some problems with it. Judging by the reports, this could be it... It doesn`t bode well for my machine but I`ll probably get it repaired for the second time within 2 years just to tide me over until I can buy a better one.

This washing machine has flash LEDs on it and I am reluctant to send a service engineer. I reckon they deliberately make money off callouts and reparing. They only offer 1 month guarantee after every repair and each one costs #100! Going to buy another machine from someone else. Really fed up. I am single and had it for 1 year and a halve but only used it once a week. Thats properly why it lasted so long unlike every1 elses who lasted 6 months becuase they properly used 4 times a week. I hate this machine; I am going to make ten more blogs like this so the message is clear .

Bought this after a series of nightmares with a Hoover washer/drier that needed repair 8 times in under 3 years and had a habit of flooding the kitchen. My parents have always had Indesit washing machines and the shortest-lived lasted 11 years, so we felt safe going with this unit. Three years on the drying heater appears to have packed in but prior to this the unit has operated perfectly. On average we do about 8 washes and 5 dries every week. We certainly do not recognise the comments given here. The panels have not cracked, the clothes are not too hot to touch after drying. BTW Hotpoint are an American company, Indesit are Italian so I am not sure where people get the idea they are the same.

I was just about to buy one of these, so I am really glad that some people have reviewed these dryers. I guess I will NOT be buying Indesit and and now not surprised to hear Indesit are same as Hotpoint because I have had bad experiences with Hotpoint in the past. Will go for seperates this time me thinks, this combined washer dryer rubbish just dowsn`t seem to work for more than 18months, and even the expensive Zanussi WD`s don`t last more than 2 years (my previous one to my current one). Time for a change...

We`ve had this washer dryer for around 5 months. After 1 month the led`s were flashing and it had to be replaced - engineer said the circuitry was new and hadn`t been properly tested, and to his credit demanded Indesit replace the machine rather than have it repaired. Replacement machine is just as bad as original in that it creases our clothes to the point that they cannot be ironed. Even just washing causes excessive creasing, drying moreso to the point that the dryer simply isn`t worth using. Also seems to be causing to much bobbling of clothes. I would warn anyone against buying this machine, it really isn`t fit for purpose, we`re going to try to get a refund from Indesit and go for a different make.

we have had our indesit washer dryer for a little over two years and it is on most days washing or drying as we have a family of six, its broken down once when the dryer heater fuse went and that was replaced very quickly , but having said that its just broken down again which is not too bad in two years , as washer dryers are not known for their reliablity , this time its the dryer heater element , of which i will be doing myself as its only £30, this is fine if you know what your doing, but if not it makes repairs a bit expensive ,,,would i recommend indesit , yes for price and for function , and maybe for reliabilty as we have not had the problems of others.

NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THE MACHINE OR THE COMPANY. SERVICE ENGINEER WAS STROPPY AS PREVIOUS REVIEW COMMENTED. THE WHITE PLASTIC FRONT CONTROL PANEL AND THE TOP OF THE MACHINE HAD CRACKS APPEAR ALL AROUND IT SO HE REPLACED THIS. WHEN ASKED AS TO WHY THE MACHINE HAD DISCOLOURED WITHIN MONTHS OF BUYING IT I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS BECAUSE I HAD A SMALL KITCHEN AND THE HEAT FROM MY OVEN WOULD HAVE CAUSED IT EVEN THOUGH MY FRIDGE AND FREEZER ARE CLOSER TO THE OVEN THAN THE MACHINE AND THAT I HAVENT HAD ANY PROBLEMS BEFORE WITH ANY MAKE OF APPLIANCE. HE ADVISED ME TO T-CUT IT BUT I WOULD ONLY BE ABLE TO DO THAT A COUPLE OF TIMES. NOW JUST UNDER 12 MONTHS DOWN THE LINE THE MACHINE STARTED LEAKING ALL OVER THE KITCHEN FLOOR AM WAITING A CALL TOMORROW WHERE I HAVE GOT TO SHOW PROOF OF THE PURCHASE FROM FREEMANS MAIL ORDER WHO RECEIVED MY ORDER ON THE 16.5.2005 BUT CANNOT PROVE WHEN I RECEIVED IT BUT WILL HONOUR THE SERVICE COST AT PRESENT AND ARE AWAITING HIS RESPONSE TOMORROW AS TO PROBLEM WITH MACHINE. INDESITS CALL CENTRE OPERATOR/SUPERVISOR WERE TOTALLY RELUCTANT TO GIVE ANY ASSISTANCE OTHER THAN ARGUE WITH ME. I AM QUITE A LEVEL HEADED PERSON BUT WOULD UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE BE SO RUDE TO ANYONE NEVER MIND IF IT WAS MY JOB THEY COULD AT LEAST HAVE THE DECENCY TO LISTEN.

from the moment i purchased this machine. I have not been happy with it. A few weeks after purchase problems started.Lights comming on machine not working. Call out engineers. Then several months after all the fittings inside the paddles attached the drum fell off. Call them out again inside of 1 yr warranty. As i speak I have just had to go out and spend again on a new washer after just a year of purchasing this thing. I can`t call it a washing machine it`s a rip off. It`s equivalent to a disposable nappy in the washing machine world. An expensive mistake. I will never buy indesit again.

We have had nothing but problems with this product since day one. From the very beginning the dryer wrecked our clothes since every dryer setting resulted in excessive creasing. Quite often the clothes were so hot we could barely lift them out of the machine. Technicians have now been called out on three occasions with less than satisfactory results. One guy told us loads of these washers have left the factory without being properly programmed. When all the lights came on prior to the last call out the technician was downright stroppy, tried to pretend the warranty had finished (there were months left on it), banged about inside the washer and has left it with the top half off. Would we recommend Indesit? As much as we would recommend pulling ones teeth out as a pastime!

I bought this product 6 months ago so it was under guarantee when it stopped working. It was 2 weeks before Indesit sent someone to fix it and when he arrived he didn`t have the right part. It was another 1.5 weeks before he could return and then he said it had to be replaced. Indesit now say that the model is not in stock and they can`t tell me when it will be. I offered to pay extra for a different model but they wanted to charge £30 more than the shop would have charged for the other model. The after sales service is awful - I will not buy anything from them again. They are the same company as Hotpoint and Canon and I wonder if these products would be the same.

We have had one of these machines for 3 months. Washing is good but drying leaves the items very creased. Even when set to stop when dry enough to iron (ie still damp) the clothes, sheets etc are very creased and even steaming doesn`t get the creases out, we are most disappointed and would not recomend this product.
