| wharfedale | FM6687 4GB | This great little economy mp3 player has really suprised me, although the controls are quite small they have a positive feel. The features take a little practice but as with most things you`ll soon pick it up. With a good battery life and usefull earphone / lanyard set up not to mention the FM player / recorder it`s a great little player but the important feature of any music device has to be the sound quality and this is where it really blew me away! tunes i`ve been listening to for 10/15 years have sounds and harmonies i`ve never heard before, amazing for such a compact, well priced player, this really is a little winner, well done wharfedale a wellcome return to the quality of yesteryear. superb! | | yamandy | 12/09/2009 14:46:36 |

| Sony | NWHD3B | I got this as my 18th bday present almost 4 years ago now and it has TRULY been amazing! It has outlived any ipod owned by my friends, and has never stopped working - ive used it at the gym, for 10 hour plane journeys, ive dropped it (countless times...) spilt water on it, and use it almost every day - the battery lasts for hours, and doesnt take long to charge at all.
Personally, I know there are fancier things out there with millions of features etc etc etc, but this is a QUALITY player, I do think Sonicstage needs updating but still, I have to give this 5 stars because its been really really reliable - and when u use it on the tube, people still look at what your fiddling with because its NOT ANOTHER IPOD!!!
Love it :) | | Amazon Reviewer | 02/01/2009 01:01:01 |

| CREATIVE | ZEN VISION M | This is something of a short review, more a response to the negative reviews - I love this player. Ive had it for almost a year and a half and, although Ive dropped it dozens of times, it still plays perfectly fine and at the same quality as when new. The only issue I have is that sometimes it crashes when Im watching a video, but besides that, its brilliant. A recommended buy. | | Amazon Reviewer | 26/12/2008 01:01:01 |

| Pure Digital | Evoke Flow | Summary: A superb radio
I am a devotee of internet radio owning my first internet radio several years ago - a Logik IR100. I have studied all available internet radios long and hard and this one has just about everything. Excellent manufacture, excellent updates and excellent sound reproduction quality which gets better the higher the volume control. The firmware has been updated well in response to user requests. Pure seem to have got it all right - they are sensitive to user requests and produce great products - the ideal manufacturer? I have found the menu system and "The Lounge" easy and the displays always informative. I have even found the DAB and FM to work very well despite being in a poor signal area, though I probably wont use these much. I bought the add-in battery which provides exceptional playback time and I look forward to buying the add-on speaker. Headphone audio is outstanding. The Pure Evoke Flow is a joy to use and a joy to listen to.

| SONY | MZ-E310 | Easy to use and nicely priced player.I do not need any complicated futures apart from the player is able to play MDs. Thats why I have chosen this model and do not regret that. | | Amazon Reviewer | 18/12/2008 01:01:01 |

| Sony | MZNH600S | HI-MD recorder/players can take discs of 1GB capacity, greater than that of a lot of similarly priced MP3 players. Theyre powered an AA battery so you dont have to worry about a built in lithium ion one running dry miles from a possible recharge. Tracks can be transferred from PC to media in minutes via USB cable. Most importantly the sound quality is good even on highest compression file type. HI minidiscs can be purchased through Amazon or on eBay. Sadly the technology is now obselete, people being seduced by the stupidly small and supposedly convenient MP3 players. My advice, snap up one of these MZ-NH600 whilst you still can! | | Amazon Reviewer | 04/11/2008 01:01:01 |

| SONY | D-NE511 Silver | This cd player is faultless and I am glad I ignored the negative
reviews of volume, because this is loud enough on 1/3 to 1/2
volume using earphones.
I use these in-ear Creative Labs EP-630/A Earphones ASIN: B0009G6FQI.
which work superbly.
The headphone output on European models is 1.5 x 1.5 mW.
The frequency response is 20 - 20,000 Hz, which I believe
covers the complete human hearing range.
Those that complain must be using the wrong headphones,
or just prefer listening to extremely loud music.
My choice was between an Ipod or the Sony D-NE511 Walkman,
and I chose the Sony Walkman because:
My top criteria was to have the best sound quality...
..Sony Walkman wins, hands down.
You can play your original CDs and you can also play MP3s
recorded onto disc. I have just stuck with playing my originals.
Second was to have portability, without the soundtrack skipping...
...Obviously Ipod comes out top here, but my solution was to
purchase this cd player sports belt ASIN: B00005T39R.
It fits this Walkman perfectly.
The CD player is also jog proof, It has two settings, even on the
first setting it does not skip.
Included in the box is a mains adapter.
Or you can use dry batteries (two AAs) which are not included.
One niggle is that you cannot use rechargeable ones.
This item has been available since 1 Jan 2003, and a newer
version was brought out (Sony D-NE711) but is no longer available.
All in all this is a brilliant CD player that I highly recommend.

| Sony | NWHD3S | Ive had this MP3 player for almost 3 years and its still going strong. Battery life is excellent - I use it in the car for about 90 minutes a day and only need to recharge it once every 10 days or so.
The build quality is excellent. The metal casing feels so much better than plastic ones.
The volume is fine, though I did take the limiter off some time ago.
The only drawbacks in my opinion are the software and the charging adapter. I misplaced my adapter a while ago but thankfully found it, as I was looking at around £30 for a replacement. LOOK AFTER YOUR CHARGING ADAPTER!!!
The SonicStage software is poor. I had to import the albums, then transfer them and then the next time I connected the NW-HD3 and used SonicStage, it would try to copy over the files again. However, I have found another nifty piece of software. Its called Vaio Music Transfer. I believe it was included with Sony Vaio laptops that came with MP3 players. Anyway, it works a treat. Just load up the program, once it has loaded, connect the NW-HD3, wait for it to says its ready. Then just open the folder when your songs are on your PC and drag n drop your files onto the Vaio Music Transfer box. It then just copies them over.
Google "Vaio Music Transfer" and you should eventually find a download link. | | Amazon Reviewer | 22/07/2008 01:01:01 |

| SONY | D-NE700 | Unlike other reviewers here, Im not going to bother with extensive details about the mp3 and Atrac functionality. Its Xmas 2007, mp3 players are dirt cheap, and if youre thinking of buying this, its more likely because you want to use it for ordinary, store bought CDs (CDDAs).
The D-NE700 represents an interesting stopping point in the 20 year or so lifetime of the CD Walkman. Released as a mid-range, mid-price product, it is actually the smallest CD Walkman ever released in terms of diameter - only 13.0 cm, smaller than the top-of-the-range D-EJ2000 or D-NE20. However, it is bulkier as it runs on AA batteries and these add to the thickness. But it gives unsurpassed battery life when running off only 2 AAs - 55 hours. As far as I know this is the most Sony was ever able to squeeze out of 2 AAs in a CD Walkman.
This gives it an edge as a Discman; its given another edge by the stylish design. Although it could have used larger buttons, it is quite sleek with smooth polished plastic and altogether a rather retro-modern 80s sci-fi film look.
The buttons actually allow you to skip to any track on the CD without having to repeatedly press the forward or back buttons, which is another plus. And if you are lucky enough to find a CD that supports tagging, then track names will be displayed on the LCD screen. Unfortunately, very few store-bought CDs seem to include this feature.
Sound quality is at the general very good Sony standard. And of course, mp3 and Atrac are always there if you do want them.
So its 1 star for size, 1 star for aesthetics (looks), 1 star for battery life, 1 star for extra features, and a final 5th star because if you do hunt one of these down, itll probably be quite reasonably priced. In my opinion, one of Sonys finest Walkman models. | | Amazon Reviewer | 15/12/2007 01:01:01 |

| Acer | MP330 10GB | With a strong, sturdy build, a music playback quality playback that easily beats the Apple(R) iPod, and a classy leather clip case thrown in, this is an outstanding portable media player. If you`re buying an MP3 player for a nice colourful interface, touch-sensitive pads and flashy games, this isn`t for you. The monochrome LCD screen isn`t exactly it`s most exciting feature. However, if you`re after a sturdy media player that won`t break in your back pocket or have an ever-decreasing battery life, look no further. It does what it`s meant to do. Well. | Venturer | 40GB HDD MP3 Player | Bought two of these two years ago, took one travelling round the world for 8 months, utterly bombproof, survived variable voltages (with adaptors) in odd countries, lots of bumps and scrapes, altitude, damp, cold, heat, dust... I used it to carry text and image files on the go, too; with great success. Bought a pair of Sennheiser headphones for about 35 quid and the sound and output was fabulous- hooked the player up to a speaker system a few times for random music at campsites, all great- long-life battery charge, huge disk capacity and IMO very reliable- a 40gig Ipod for 10 times the price would have cracked up in the first week of what this thing was put through, and it`s still going strong now | | dave e | 16/10/2008 11:24:05 |

| Sony | MZ-NH900 Silver | i have been using my beaten up MZ-NH600 for a long while now, and it has done me proud, having taken the brunt of a 10 feet drop down some concrete stairs and still worked.....but now none of the buttons work, so i thought it is about time i upgraded. and what an upgrade. the MZ-NH900 is sweet. the main plus point is i have upgraded my sonic stage software, which doesnt look like much compared to i-tunes, but i like it much more, and it seems a lot more stable. the playing format is pretty much standard, and what you would expect for a minidisc player of this day and age, and i am well chuffed with the purchase.
the only thing i dont get is why on earth minidiscs never caught on!!!!

| Aigo | A208 2GB | I really dont think you can beat this player for the price! I use it for audio books and music and its perfect. Yes ok, the controls take a bit of getting used to, but ive read through all the reviews here, and it seems that most of them are invalid. 90% of the negative reviews are from people who cannot work the thing, one was even from someone who doesnt like it because they cant fit 2000 songs on! | Sony | NWA808B | Great walkman. light-weight and slim. Feels good to hold with its sleek desogn. sound quality is great. only problem is, no covers can be bought for it. But thats ok, as it looks great and the design is so sleek, theres no need for a case,as it will hide the looks of this walkman. Sometimes easily mistaken as a very expensive and modern phone, but its all good :D All cover arts, personal photos and videos are displayed in amazing colour and quality. I recommend to all. A great buy. Been over 6 months now, hardly any scratches or colour wearing, and is still functioning as good as new. Battery life is great. | | Sal_Krazyphilic | 27/03/2008 07:41:24 |

| Acer | MP330 20GB | Display a bit basic it is packed with usfull features. For the money you`ll be hard pushed to match it, comes with all bells and whistles as standard, no shopping around for accessories after you bought it. Its not pretty and accessing tracks is a little ungainly. You have to treat it like an external HD to get the best from it. Deleting the album art, makes accessing tracks alot easier. | OLYMPUS | m robe MR100 5GB MP3 Player | I have owned my MR-100 for a couple of years now with no problems at all. I bought another two for my wife and daughter. After a few days one of the units failed to swithch on but was replaced by the Olympus dealer within days. The touch screen will undoubtedly become lightly scratched after time but a cheap screen protector film is ideal to maintain the great cosmetic appearance of the unit. I use my M:robe whilst cycling and the excessive wind noise proves challenging for the supplied earphones which have now been replaced with a set of Shure E2G `in ear` phones. The combination is outstanding and the volume reduced to a minimum level even when setting a pace on the bike. Very please with this product and would recommend to all. | | Bob. | 17/07/2007 12:29:49 |

| Bush | PSDAB2014MP3 | This product appears slightly larger when compared to normal mp3. But it aslo has DAB radio giving you a choice radio on the bus or in the park. Or using the Mp3 for tube commute to work. There is enough memory on the mp3 to for an average commute and the sound via the in-earphones is great. I used the windows XP to download tracks from my favourite albums and easy to use. The DAB radio reception varies where are, I got lots of radio stations are home or where got signal strength, otherwise best stations to hold signal were Talksport, virgin, BBc world service and some bbc stations. If you see this sign `?` next to radio station there poor or no signal in its current location. You also have option via the mode to transfer to FM radio. Other features, including ability to record from radio, your favourites, save up 20 stations, play by album, genre, artist etc. It in black so minises scratches and the central circular button controls the volume, menu function and is comfortable to hold. I purchased mine from Argos for £89.79 but am happy with it, as use it for the work commute, for background music when studying at home. Battery life been good too. | | Charlie-gadget girl | 11/06/2007 09:29:44 |

| Roberts | RD15 | I must admit that I am a bit of a DAB junkie and the Robert RD15 is my forth! I also have two ASDA specials (one for the kitchen and one for the office), additionally I have fitted my car with an excellent Sony head unit and so the Roberts is my forth. I have owned Roberts radios in the past and after going to Comet and touching, playing and fiddling with about 15 radios, this little Roberts unit stood out for the money. It feels well made with quality plastics and the buttons felt nice to the touch. The layout of the controls is simple and logical and took me about 30 seconds to automatically tune in about 20 stations (I live in Cornwall and it picks up all the stations that I should get). Compared to my other portable radios, this one locks onto a station very quickly and confidently (sometimes I don`t even need to pull out the arial). The sound is excellent for the size of radio and gives a nice strong sound, ideal for my fav station 6Music and for speech on BBC7. Although it has only 5 presets, the slick scrolling buttons makes navigation simple and quick so this isn`t a problem. Battery life (this is important to me as I use it for listening while I`m out and about) is excellent; using 4 x D batteries, I have been playing the radio for 6 hours a day for 7 days now and it`s still sounding fine (the unit also comes with a mains adaptor). The large scrolling display is easy to read and doesn`t flicker like cheaper radios. The negatives; it would have been nice to have had a stereo outputs to feed into my home amplifier (even my Acoustic Solutions Portal 1 has it) but to be honest I use my Sky+ for radio in the front room so this isn`t such a loss for me. Conclusion; A great, well built radio with excellent battery life, and a good sound for all types of listening. Very recommended | | Steve | 29/05/2007 08:10:35 |

| Philips | PSS110 256MB | Just bought one of these amazing little players. you can now truly say `size isn`t everything` super cool exterior about the size and shape of a large chocolate eclair, great longevity from the built in battery and a truly stunning sound from such a small device, combine this with a built in radio and line-in for external devices such as an ipod. The display is crisp and clear with an intuative menu. In the box you get all the leads you need USB, Mini jack to Mini jack, mini arial lead, mains adaptor and a sturdy case which looks a little like a brushed titanium hot-dog. The only real downside is the software used for transfer (musicmatch) which can be a bit tricky, a big tip before you try and transfer any files UPDATE THE DEVICE PLUGIN, some clever person has wrote a great little program called `shockbox buddy` the software is free and enbles you to transfer files via most file browsers i.e. windows explorer. The only other downside side to an almost perfect little gadget is the lack of a memory expansion slot but with the inclusion of an input from an external player this isn`t a major problem. If you SEE, LISTEN and TOUCH you`ll want one. | | JaMoKeTaC | 27/05/2007 08:28:30 |

| Venturer | 40GB HDD MP3 Player | Great player... But at the moment I have a little problem with it ... read on.. Hi, I`ve had the venturer 40gb mp3 player (model HDP3202BS) for around a year now but just recently encountered an error while starting up, with the message `no systems files` showing. Thinking I was knowing what I was doing and frustrated that I couldn`t get to the format option on the player I resorted to wiping it on my computer, along with, I believe around 38gb worth of music. Problem was, it formatted but didn`t complete and now everytime I click the drive in my computer I am asked to format, which as always never completes. All I`m getting now whenever I start the thing is `system error` too. However it still connect to the computer via usb. Fortunetely, I have the firmware for the player stored on my computer, yet need to format the player to drag that and the contents of the system folder into the drive. In doing this I`m in the thinking it will give the player new life. How can I format this thing? I`ve also noticed that the hdd size has shrunk from 40gb to just 2gb for some reason. Why is this so? Could you please give me guidance on these issues. The player was a gift so I cannot take it back to the store. | Apple | iPod Nano 2GB Silver | This iPod has it`s ups and downs. For those of you who are surfin` the net in a public place, who have not got the internet at home, it is most best to download iTunes now as Apple do not give out software CDs anymore. This is because the Internet is becoming more known and worldwide. This small MP3 player can store up to 500 songs on a 1gb memory. I reccomend that you encode the mp3`s into AIFF if you have the codec (most software will give you aiff codecs for encoding) and can also store photos and album art. It is a great gadget you can buy for christmas this year or birthdays etc.... It comes with: 1 set of headphones, 1 USB lead (Windows and Apple), iPod and instruction leaflet. This package can be found anywhere at just under £100. This is by far the most loved and popular product on the market. It also has 4 games on it`s memory to let you play while listening to your music. It has a good sound to it with loads of presets. I say that this gadget IS worth it`s price! | | iFreind | 13/01/2007 18:53:15 |

| Unbranded | iTronics 1GB | bought one of these last August, as an extra player, so I could have a small one. 10 GB is just too much for my needs, so 1GB was ideal. It`s a great little piece of kit. The battery life is about 12 hours and the sound quality with sony phones is excellent. My only gripe is the constantly changing colour of the backlight. adding files couldn`t be simpler. judging by others comments i guess there are some quality control issues, but mine is fine | | mark | 13/01/2007 18:53:10 |

| Ministry of Sound | MOSMP083X10 1GB | I got this for christmas. It is a brillant bit of kit, nice and easy to use and to download tracks on. Very good simple menus so you dont need to be Bill Gates to use it. It already contains 10 music tracks so all you have to do is charge it and your away. Iam very impressed, nothing really lets this down! | | Paul | 08/01/2007 15:31:02 |

| Venturer | 40GB HDD MP3 Player | Have had mine for several months now and so far no problems, in fact bought my girlfriend one as well. It is so easy to use. I not only store music on mine but also mpegs, avi, jpegs and various files for work eg word, excel etc. Most of the time I use it in the car where it sits between the front seats with a plug in transmitter so that I can listen to it through the car hifi system. As I also have it conected to a computer quite a bit of the time I have actually only charged it up twice, it charges very nicely from the usb connection which is great. (Trouble is I got so used to not having to charge it that when I went away for a week I forgot about needing a charger and couldn`t work out why it stopped half way through the third day till I realised the battery had gone flat Doh!) Although it is a bit on the large side it is not that heavy and I find it very comfortable wearing it on a belt (Samsonite do a great pouch which is almost an exact fit with room for cables and headphones). Don`t know why Argos stopped selling it, can only assume sales were not high enough due to trendy idiots spending more money on smaller memory systems cause they `look the part`. MUGS!!! | | Sipnogard | 08/01/2007 15:28:45 |

| Venturer | 40GB HDD MP3 Player | this item i believe is the most under rated item this year in electronics,... as a hard disc it can store mp3s pictures jpgs bitmap ANY PIC FILES. whole movies specially DIVX and Xvid(even put my codecs in it to transfer to my other pc). it can also hold your favorite softwares as a backup drive. this is a steal.it can also serve as a voice recorder and saves as a wav file. its true its prone to short circuiting... i put a £2.50 car adaptor on its mains and it went haywire a bit( because i got the amperes wrong, now its used to it.)... but i dont mind as long as it works when i plug it in a usb or when mains are plugged. i belived its easily repairable with some know how. its tough... i rate this product as a 10. bye the way theres a conspiracy theory its been discontinued because all the nice lookin mp3s down there cant compete with it... unlike them the venturer 40gb mp3 will play downloaded music from peersites and unlicensed music. be it .mp3 .wav. etc. cool gadget... i have 2 | | Anon | 02/01/2007 09:25:34 |

| Venturer | 40GB HDD MP3 Player | These things are great. Me and my boyfriend have one each, both of us use them with a casette adaptor in the car and with leads attached to our main stereo as well as as a personal player. The headphones are rubbish. The ones we bought from poundland were way better. Other than that no complaints. Great value for money. | | Great | 11/12/2006 16:16:25 |

| ALBA | MP3128D6SIL | This mp3 player is a very cheap and simple gadget to use. At an even lower price of only £9.99 from Argos, you just simply can`t go wrong. It is easy to use and looks a lot more stylish when you have it in your hand than in the picture. Although it has only 128 mb of memory you can also put in a memory card up to 1Gb as there is an SD slot. I don`t see anything wrong with the earphones provided, they are of good quality and are loud - well compared to my old ones. The only problems are that it takes quite long to turn on to the play screen when you turn it on with a memory card inside and also the memory card sticks out a bit from the side but this doesn`t bother me at all. | | Zeesh | 27/11/2006 10:25:11 |

| Venturer | 40GB HDD MP3 Player | one of the best buys of the year i paid 89 squid but i beleive you can now get them for 49,at that price you get a lot more than you expect. i use a rio carbon for out and about and only use the venturer for storing a massive amount of music to play through my hifi so size and looks dont matter much, the only downside is you cant use it whilst your charging but with 12 hours batery life between charges i cant complain(much).anyone thinking of buying one of these get one or spend an extra 200 quid to keep up with the joneses | | Anon | 31/10/2006 08:56:36 |

| Venturer | 40GB HDD MP3 Player | the player is a compleate god sent. i got mine for £30 in a market, it works to perfection, has a memory like its battery life and easy to use, cant fault it. even its large size is good since you can see it before someone steals it and you cannot misplace it. cool name too. | | Captain BuggerNuts | 27/08/2006 15:36:00 |

| Wharfedale | WSAT20 | I hadn`t had much luck with portable radios with my for quid Mikomi dieing on me after 2 weeks, so I wasn`t too sure about buying this. A friend told me Wharfedale were a pretty decent make so I thought I may as well give it a try. I bought it for £7.49 in Argos reduced from £14.99. First impressions are really good, it includes, headphones, speaker dock, and ac/adapter as well as the radio itself. It`s only FM but it can store 30 presets for plenty of music pleasure. I really like the large LCD display which backlights Orange, and the alarm clock, time and date are really easy to use. Overall - an excellent piece of equipment in my opinion.
Thankyou. | | hally | 23/08/2006 13:20:47 |

| Unbranded | Gemei B9 1GB | Was think of the i-pod shuffle until I found you can`t see what`s on it. Also can`t afford £100 for the next one. I like my gemei because it lets me put more music on which suits me fine and i can listen to the radio and no more batteries! And at the time is was the only 1GB that was affordable. GIVE IT A CHANCE. | | INDIE | 29/07/2006 21:43:24 |

| SAMSUNG | YH925 20 Gb | This player has converted me to Samsung! It is reliable, flexible and easy to use. Sound quality is excellent (with a new pair of earphones), voice recording and line-in recording is of high quality and the storage capability is excellent. Plus the USB hosting linking straight to your digital camera - tell me if I`m wrong but I don`t think there is anything else like it.
Negatives: doesn`t interface with old computers and the radio tuner is mediocre. Only real problem = someone stole mine. I`m hoping to buy another Samsung 925 but may need to settle for a J70.

| Venturer | 40GB HDD MP3 Player | bought mine from argos for £49.99, thought there must be something wrong with it at that price, but no cannot fault it , like the physical size though not very easy to dangle roud your neck, easy to use and well worth the money. sure it will give me many happy hours of pleasure | | stephen bevan | 10/07/2006 10:22:19 |

| ALBA | MP3128D6SIL | Unbelievable player for the dosh. My recommendation is to bin the earphones, buy some decent ones (i bought some Sennheiser mx-300`s for a fiver), buy a cheap 1gb SD card(shop around, mine cost only fifteen notes). The whole job lot was under thirty five quid and shows an ipod shuffle the way home! truly outstanding sound now and with acres of memory for not much money. Thanks Alba. | | mikeyboy | 15/06/2006 08:04:35 |

Very recommended
